@acaciabluebell exactly the same for me... Started opking in case I miss something earlier than usual. Not expecting to ovulate until cd14/15 then the dreaded 9/10 lp to come after that haha. Hoping that it increases in length again 3rd cycle off the pill. X

Milliemoo222 · 17/07/2020 12:31

Hi :) @acaciabluebell
Had a few days off thinking about it all, plus work was crazy busy! I am due for AF in 11 days... so just trying to stay calm and not think too much! Not positive this month is the one to be fair, but we are going for a small break away next month with a hot tub so will be able to use that at least!
Are you planning on using OPKs this cycle or every other day dtd?

acaciabluebell · 17/07/2020 12:33

@Daffodil21 Glad to hear that the appointment went well! Hopefully they will be able to give you some answers at your next appointment. Where are you in your cycle now?

@SVC11 I'm thinking to not use OPKs this month until I see some signs of ovulation (cramping, ewcm etc). I found it really disheartening last time having 13-14 straight days of stark negative OPKs because I ovulated way later than I expected (CD20 rather than CD13). So I really have no idea when I will ovulate this month.

acaciabluebell · 17/07/2020 12:38

@Milliemoo222 it's nice having a few days off thinking about ttc isn't it? Enjoy your break, sounds like it will lovely!!!

I'm thinking to just dtd every other day this month. Last cycle felt a little bit too regimented for my liking. DH and I normally dtd very regularly anyway so every other day won't be too hard for us (hopefully!)

Daffodil21 · 17/07/2020 12:59

@acaciabluebell currently CD45... expecting AF to arrive in a week or so. I really hope I don't have more cycles that are this length.

Was planning on just dtd every other day and not doing OPKs too, but will have to then next month to try and time the progesterone blood re-test

@Daffodil21 that all sounds quite reassuring, glad the appointment went well! Really hope you get some answers. A friend of mine had 3 mc in a row, then got a referral but didn't end up needing it as she fell pregnant again, which resulted in a healthy baby.
Arggh the dreaded transvaginal ultrasound! I hate having those done!
As for me I'm just trying to resist the urge to Google pregnancy symptoms 10 days po. I don't know why as I already know all of the symptoms anyway.

Daffodil21 · 17/07/2020 14:00

@Bam27 I went it a little naive to be honest! I've had two before, but they were when I was pregnant so I suppose they didn't need to have such a 'rummage' !! It was all fine though and definitely a relief. Just the blood results to come through and that's the last of the investigations.

Good to know about your friend - I'm so glad she ended up having a healthy baby.

I do exactly the same too 😂 I have no idea why. I'm 7dpo so a little behind you - so far I haven't done any googling and have sort of managed to have brief moments of not thinking about it, as I've got a couple of distractions. I suppose time will tell, but fingers crossed for you as always x

Does anyone take Evening Primrose Oil - if so how much mg should I get? Looking on Amazon I can see 1000mg - 1300mg?

Just read online that it's important to stop taking EPO after ovulation as it can affect implantation. So I may need to continue using OPKs after all

SVC11 · 17/07/2020 14:29

@acaciabluebell yeah unfortunately hubby is away this month... Miilleess from me for work, so I'm going to monitor my ovulation, think I'm due to ovulate next weekend, and I'm going to make one trip to go and see him and I need to know it is the right time hense the opks , otherwise I would deffo just be dtd and not monitoring!

JTB123 · 17/07/2020 22:19

@Daffodil21 so glad your appointment went ok ❤️ fingers crossed for some answers on the blood work!
CD28 for me, no AF or spotting yet and BFNs 🤔

Bramleyapples13 · 18/07/2020 09:17

Hello everyone.

@Daffodil21 can I ask what the process was for you getting an appointment at the fertility clinic? Especially with everything at the minute was it easy enough to do?

Daffodil21 · 18/07/2020 10:45

Hi @Bramleyapples13

Sorry, this is a very long post...

We have recently moved from England to Scotland, and I have to Scotland has been much better.

Basically we had been TTC for nearly a year in England (I may have gone slightly sooner and told them it was a year 😳). They did blood tests which came back clear except high levels of prolactin. So they booked me in for a scan. I then got pregnant, which didn't last, and they wouldn't go back to my tests in England because I 'could conceive'. My husband also had sperm analysis which started in England, and they came back with low morphology.

Then we moved to Scotland in January, and they started all tests again from scratch, even mine which the docs in England weren't going to bother doing after I conceived. They retested my DH and his tests again came back low morphology, so that's what got us the referral to the fertility clinic (referral was a few weeks before lockdown).

We had a video consultation during lockdown, where they just asked us general health questions and talked it all through with us. The consultant wasn't concerned with low morphology results, and said we would not be receiving any treatment until it has either been 2 years of TTC (it has for us) OR 2 years since a pregnancy. So because we have had losses, they won't even consider ivf until next september. Had we not have had them, we would be getting on the waiting list now. So just because you get a referral, it does not mean you get treatment.

Having said that, they have been very good in their checks for both of us. I had a scan and further bloods yesterday, I'll have more bloods next cycle and that completes all their checks.

It seems the fertility clinics are picking up again now. They were only allowed one patient in at a time, so you wait in your car until they call you in. I wasn't allowed my partner in, but that didn't really matter.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get you an overview of our experience so you can have an idea of what to expect! What's your situation, if you don't mind me asking?

Bramleyapples13 · 18/07/2020 21:03

@Daffodil21 thank you for replying! It's good to know the process for things and know where we may stand.

I had an ovarian cancer scare when I was 21, which was luckily benign. But meant I was left with one ovary and fallopian tube after my operation. I was told I could find it very difficult to ever have children but at 21 it didn't really mean a right lot. I'm nearly 33 now, and my other half is 37. We started TTC about six months ago (which given some time frames isn't a right lot), after speaking to the doctor who said to try for 6months then she'd look at referring us to the fertility clinic because they class me as a 'special case' Confused

Bramleyapples13 · 18/07/2020 21:05

@Daffodil21 it just seems such a faff and long winded way of putting people through a lot of high hopes but making them wait two years. Especially when you feel ready now, why is it their choice when you get given treatment?

Daffodil21 · 19/07/2020 17:20

So AF is on its way already, at 9DPO. But on a much longer cycle than usual, so no idea what's going on.

@Bramleyapples13 that must be stressful, I'm sorry you're having to deal with that. I'm glad the docs will refer you after a year though.

I suppose the wait is to save money - there's no reason on paper why we aren't conceiving, and we've shown that we can conceive, so compared to lots of others we're not a priority case

Hi I am TTC for first baby too :)

JTB123 · 19/07/2020 19:05

@Daffodil21 CD30 for me and no AF yet but still negative ICs! Maybe my cycle is just longer than I thought!

Daffodil21 · 19/07/2020 19:09

@JTB123 I'm on CD47 which is longer than usual, but I was expecting AF on Friday because of the OPK smiley. On to the next month I suppose

How long have you been tracking for?

OP posts:
Bam27 · 20/07/2020 08:11

AF due tomorrow and spotting today! Looks like I'm out 😔
Hope your all okay 💐

JTB123 · 20/07/2020 08:37

@Daffodil21 this month is my first cycle of tracking so I actually am not sure how long my cycles are! I'm guessing now anywhere from 30-35 days, I think I'd notice if they were anymore than that in the past!
Got some FRER coming today, so I'll try one of those tomorrow morning and if it's negative I will know that I've just got slightly longer cycles that I thought! X

JTB123 · 20/07/2020 08:38

@Bam27 oh noooo 😩 sorry that here that AF Is arriving! X

JTB123 · 20/07/2020 13:56

Very prominent Evap line on these FRER tests 😩

TTC Thread #2
Daffodil21 · 20/07/2020 16:07

@JTB123 oh no, hopefully just a faulty test! I love how you didn't end up waiting until the morning to test... I would have been exactly the same if I thought there was a possibility I was late!

I suppose test again tomorrow if no AF?

OP posts:
JTB123 · 20/07/2020 16:50

@Daffodil21 Hahahahahahahaha I know, couldn't help myself! As soon as amazon delivered them I like mehhhh and ran upstairs with them 🤣

Dogscanlookup · 20/07/2020 17:40

Hey guys, I commented a week or so again. What’s the evap line I keep hearing about on these tests? I took some FRER tests at the weekend and they were negative. I’ve heard some bad things about them not being reliable? I’ve had some light pink spotting today, I don’t know if it’s AF or if it’s possibly implantation bleeding? I’m CD25 but I don’t know my cycles yet as I’ve only had one bleed since being off the pill!
