@Bam27 @JTB123 Conceive Plus will solve all your frequency problems!! 😂

OP posts:
Bam27 · 02/07/2020 20:31

@Daffodil21 really? Does that actually work? I might have try that! I had read that they increase libido but wasn't convinced. I'm only taking a folic acid and OH is taking zinc.

Daffodil21 · 02/07/2020 20:36

@Bam27 once again this is going to be tmi. But basically with the frequency of us dtd, it took me a little while to be 'ready', and by the time I was 'ready' he was erm, going to sleep a little 😂 the lube helps me be 'ready' when he is!!! We don't use it every time. It it's good to have to hand!!

OP posts:
JTB123 · 02/07/2020 20:58

@Daffodil21 @Bam27 I bought it before we started TTC and I’ve been using it ever since 🤣🤣 I definitely haven’t got the patience to wait until I’m ready especially if we’re doing it so often 😂👌🏼

CEW19 · 02/07/2020 21:02

AF is due tomorrow to Sunday for me, and i’ve already convinced myself it hasn’t happened this month. DH thinks I am because I’ve been in such a foul mood this week 😂 Just feel like my period is coming and it’s so depressing. Anyone else struggle with the fact this is all out of our control?

Bam27 · 02/07/2020 21:02

@Daffodil21 oooh I understand now! I thought you meant conceive plus supplements. The ones for men say they increase sexual desire or something 😂... We use lube every time anyway 🤣 currently using preseed but I'm thinking of switching to conceive plus just because the packaging is nicer 😂 preseed looks a little clinical.

Bam27 · 02/07/2020 21:25

@CEW19 yes every month, tww is hell! And then I have a meltdown every time AF arrives 😅 swear my oh thinks I'm crazy. Your not alone totally normal to feel like that. Don't know how I went 6 months without venting on here! So wish I had joined sooner so nice to be able to talk to others that understand! Hope you get your BFP! 🤞

ALew15 · 02/07/2020 21:26

@Bam27 we used Preseed two or three times this cycle and I really liked it! I call it 'slide and ride' 😂 it definitely helped with the readiness!

I'm definitely having some creamy cm (soz) haven't noticed it at this point of my cycle before. Hmm

Daffodil21 · 02/07/2020 21:27

@JTB123 I know what you mean - sometimes I just want to tell him I'm really not bothered about myself that night and to just get on with it so we can go to sleep 😂

@Bam27 ah sorry!! Haha I can see that would be confusing!

@CEW19 that is one of the worst parts - we literally have no control. We can take vitamins, dtd as often as we can but at the end of the day there's only so much we can do! I really can't believe people get pregnant by accident when it's this difficult even when planned!! Keep us posted!!!!

@ALew15 the TWW really is the worst. I absolutely hate it. The closer I get to AF due day, the crazier I drive myself! It's actually been really nice not to have the TWW this time! If AF hasn't arrived by 12th July then I'm going to take a test, but I'm not otherwise. I hope you get to know either way soon 🤞

OP posts:
Bam27 · 02/07/2020 21:34

@ALew15 I like that name for it 🤣 it's only the packaging I'm not keen on, it looks like something you get prescribed, but that's just me being picky! 😂... Ooh, well that's definitely a positive sign, hopefully it will be good news for you!

Dreaming101 · 02/07/2020 23:36

Ah ladies I’m sorry I’ve been quiet the last few days, I’ve missed so much omg. I’ve been so manic with work and feeling really anxious over everything so a few days off was needed. Blood tests are Tuesday to find out why AF hasn’t been arriving for me since my withdrawal bleed and the first natural bleed back in April.

Welcome to all the newbies to the thread, I’ve found this thread amazing so hope you all get lots of tips and support. It’s safe to say nothing is TMI on here🙊

@Daffodil21
that comment about booting the cats out has really ticked me😂😂

@acaciabluebell my lh levels fluctuate until the final peak. Think it’s called a biphasic pattern. It’s high then a little bit lower so I think it’s my peak and bam peak arrives!
Glad to see you’re still using the Premom app too!

@Bam27 I use cheap ones once a day throughout my cycle just to keep track and then when ovulation is due or my lines get darker I use them twice a day. When the line is really dark I use the CB’s to confirm with the smiley! I always test early afternoon as they say Lh takes time to rise throughout the day unlike HCG which is better to be tested for in FMU

Think I’m all caught up 🙈

acaciabluebell · 03/07/2020 00:24

@Bam27 Yes I was using the one-step OPKs. I got sooo sick of seeing only one line day after day, I thought the tests might be broken lol. Then finally it went from barely a line to positive very quickly. The whole experience just gave me such stress haha

SC1989 · 03/07/2020 07:24

Hi all, I was original member of this group (Lenny and Toots) but have just been watching the chat for a while. I felt like I had a lot of stress going on in my life so wanted to take it easy.

I've just take a pregnancy test a few days before expected AF. Negative. Tbh I wasn't that hopeful, I didn't notice any EWCM (I'm not tracking by OPKs as I thought I would get too obsessed tbh!) and my partner used Durex lube despite me telling him about the effects! He then read up on the lube afterwards and was a bit annoyed with himself.

This month il finally give in and get some OPKs. I think I'm going to go for clearblue ones as i just want to use them to get an understanding of whether I ovulate and when it is (my cycle is regular between 28/30 days so I'm assuming the ovulation date shouldn't vary too much but correct me if I'm wrong??). We are also going to use concieve plus lube instead as ... sorry if TMI ... but we need a little help sometimes.

Ive also found out that my partners friends are TTC as his friend was discussing OPKs with him. I will be absolutely over the moon for them if they get pregnant as they deserve it so so much. I do now feel a little more pressure though, not going to lie!

Sorry for the worlds longest post. Just getting a bit frustrated as I thought I'm relatively healthy but it's so difficult to get pregnant!

Bam27 · 03/07/2020 07:54

@Dreaming101 sorry you've been feeling anxious. Hopefully you will get some answers, that must be so frustrating for you! Let's hope your cycle regulates soon... Thanks for the info, I'm going to start using the cheap ones twice a day from today. If I get a positive then. I will use my CB to confirm it. Currently on day 21 and waiting for ovulation.
@acaciabluebell that's reassuring, I was a little worried that there was barely a line at all. When I have googled OPKs people tend to have a progressive line leading up to peak but now I know that's not the case for everyone I feel much better! Sorry it was so stressful for you. I'm trying my best not to get too obsessive but it's not easy.

Bam27 · 03/07/2020 08:12

@SC1989 Hello, sorry about your negative pregnancy test 💐 as much as we tell ourselves we weren't expecting to be pregnant it's still always a huge disappointment. I think you're right if you have regular cycles I would assume your ovulating at roughly the same time in each cycle. I've only been using OPKs this week but so far so good with the CB advanced digital, got my flashing smiley and now waiting for static. As for lube we were using durex lube for months before I realised it could negatively effect sperm motility! (We have always used lube) we have switched to preseed now. I had a friend trying at the same time, who is now pregnant and I'm so happy for her but I find it difficult at times.
I feel the same, definitely wasn't prepared for how difficult it is ttc. Hopefully it doesn't take you too long 💐

SC1989 · 03/07/2020 08:18

Hi @Bam27 thanks for the message and glad to know we are not the only couple having used Durex. D'oh!

How is preseed? I thought I'd go for concieve plus as it was more like a classic lube (weird thing to say but oh well). As preseed is a pre application thing isn't it?

Bam27 · 03/07/2020 08:25

@SC1989 preseed is just as good as any other lube we have used. I think you can buy it as a normal lube or a pre application. I didn't realise at the time and accidently ordered the pre application one😅 I just used it like normal lube though.

SC1989 · 03/07/2020 08:46

@Bam27 oh ok good to know it can be used as lube too. I'm kinda put off by the pre app ones so that's good to know. How long have you been TTC?

Bam27 · 03/07/2020 08:58

@SC1989 I have heard good things about conceive plus as well. Think I will order conceive plus when preseed runs out. I just checked and I think you're right, it only comes as pre application stuff, although as I said before you can still use it as normal. Haven't used contraception for 9 months, but been 'trying' for 7 months.

Bam27 · 03/07/2020 08:58

@SC1989 how long have you been ttc?

Daffodil21 · 03/07/2020 09:12

Hi @SC1989 nice to have you back :) sorry this has been making you feel shit. It really is much harder than I (and probably everyone here) expected.

I don't know why but the thought of your partner discussing OPKs with his friends made me smile a little Grin it's nice you have friends who are also going through the same thing. Of course whichever of you gets pregnant first, the other will no doubt find that hard

I wouldn't bother trying to save money by going for the pink (2 fertile days) clear blues btw, I used them this month and I really with I bough the blue ones! (4 fertile days)

OP posts:
SC1989 · 03/07/2020 09:44

Hi @Daffodil21 thank you for the welcome back!

This thread has not been making me feel shit at all btw, I just didn't want to add pressure when I thought I'd screwed up this month basically lol! I've had a lot going on with work and just thought I couldn't add another stress on... with all this baby making scientific malarkey we do!

Yeah I was thinking of getting the 20 tests tbh (£16?) just because I intend to only use them for this month and then if my system is totally out I won't accidentally miss anything. Then I could have no OPKs going forward but kinda know where I'm at ... or if I felt i needed to, then I could get the cheapies (which make absolutely no sense to me whatsoever at the mo!)

Well luckily my other half didn't say that we were trying. I don't really want that put out there just in case it takes a while.

But the other couple are using OPKs and so my OH is now like ... right ... we are going to be on it next month haha! It's one of his closest friends so it would be nice to have a close friend to share things with and share maternity leave with etc.

I've been TTC for two months, after AF it will be my third cycle so I know I haven't been trying long and need to be more patient. I haven't been on the pill for years though so was hoping that would help speed things along as my cycle has been regular for a while.

JTB123 · 03/07/2020 10:08

Hey gals, still no signs of ovulation today as Flo says lollll, but I will take the OPK today anyway, what time of the day have you found best in getting a near positive?

ALew15 · 03/07/2020 11:07

Well I caved and took a cheapy test this morning. Negative of course. Waiting until next week now. Wanted some reassurance either way x

Daffodil21 · 03/07/2020 11:07

@SC1989 my last post was so badly written 😂 I meant 'this' in terms of TTC but glad we're not making you feel shit either! I hope you worked out what my mess of a sentence was trying to say at the end!

£16 is a bloody good price for those. I ordered some at that price to use alongside my next blood tests (when they eventually happen!) but not going to use them other wise. I'm now nearing the end of my 3rd box of the pink ones (the first box was a pack of 20!) with no smiley face. I hope I don't get a smiley now because I'm on CD31 so I think I would almost rather not ovulate for a month than ovulate that late! I've spent an absolute fortune on them this month though. I had to go and buy a box at my local chemist because I couldn't wait for delivery and they were £23 for 10!!!
