@Daffodil21 what if your cycle changes every month? 😂🤔 I'm assuming it's a bit of guess work, maybe I will go by CM and test when that appears to start of with. Don't want to use too many as they are pricey! Although I think they are usually more expensive than they are currently.
Hopefully you still ovulate this month. I read somewhere that in order to get a period you have to ovulate, but don't know if you can still get a bleed even if it isn't a "true period". Sometimes when my cycle is 40+ days I wonder if I ovulated at all.

Daffodil21 · 28/06/2020 18:07

@Bam27 yeah I just looked it up and you can have a bleed as if it's a period if you don't ovulate, but it's not a true period.

I would go by your typical shortest cycle. They are usually more expensive than £16 so I would get some more while they're cheap if you plan on testing every month. I ordered a pack while they're this cheap so I can test the month I'll have blood tests to help time it a bit, but I'm going to get DH to hide them with the preg tests! I just did another test and it was negative 🙄

Daffodil21 · 28/06/2020 18:08

@Bam27 I meant to add - they're not cheap but if you don't use them properly then that's more a waste of money really. I usually find that a box of 20 goes over more than one cycle (obviously not this cycle!)

@Daffodil21 thanks for the advice, was hoping they would last more than one month. Not sure I want to order any more until I have tried them, as its first time using OPKs I might not stick with it 😂 hopefully they stay this price a little longer. How much are they normally? I think £16 is quite pricey😂

Daffodil21 · 29/06/2020 08:10

@Bam27 they're £47.99 full price in boots atm... I've never paid anymore than about £25 though

Back from my weekend trip with the in-laws! It was pretty awkward but managed to keep to the routine of DTD every other day!

I'm still using the new opks I bought (not digital) and a little confused whether I ovulated or not. Yesterday I had a pretty dark line that was almost the same as the test line, but today seems to have gotten lighter. Not sure if that means that yesterday was the peak? Would that mean that I would ovulate today?

Dreaming101 · 29/06/2020 12:23

@saravb aw did you have a nice break away?

I would say that if the line is equal to the control line you should ovulate today. Keep testing though as sometimes you will dip before shooting back up to a peak x

hampshirerose34 · 29/06/2020 13:58

AF turned up today 2 days early ! So it starts again x

SVC11 · 29/06/2020 14:29

@hampshirerose34 so sorry to hear that. I'm still waiting for my opks to show any kind of surge this month... Such a waiting game xx

hampshirerose34 · 29/06/2020 14:36

@SVC11 finger crossed for you sweet x

SaraVB · 29/06/2020 14:39

@Dreaming101 oh thanks that's good to know! I'll keep testing and see what happens.

The break was great. Really nice to be distracted and spend some time outside in the sunshine. Painful being back at work today though!

@hampshirerose34 really sorry to hear x

Daffodil21 · 29/06/2020 14:53

@hampshirerose34 sorry to hear. Hope you catch next month

@SaraVB glad you had a nice break and managed to dtd!!

@SVC11 I'm in the same boat. What CD are you? Seems like almost all of us has been off with AF timings lately. How annoying!

acaciabluebell · 29/06/2020 18:17

After thinking that I wouldn't ovulate this month, I stopped testing for a few days and took a break from DTD. Now today (CD18) I finally have some EWCM and my OPK has 2 lines (although one is still faint, not dark enough for a peak). I hope I get a peak soon! Need to get back to dtd lol

Bam27 · 29/06/2020 18:28

@hampshirerose34 really sorry about AF, hope your okay 💐

@acaciabluebell I'm the same as you cycle day 17 and only just got small amount of ewcm today and mine usually lasts for 5-7 days

hampshirerose34 · 29/06/2020 18:32

Thanks guys !! Just have to carry on. DH is doing the Keto diet with me this month so maybe that will help. X

Bam27 · 30/06/2020 07:09

Soo I want to start the OPKs today. I have some ewcm yesterday so I think I may have missed the eostrogen surge. If I use them this month will I still get static smiley, if I missed the flashing smiley? And if I don't will it reset for next month? Or will it use today's results as my base level until I've run out of tests?... Sorry for the many questions, just have no idea what I'm doing 😂

Daffodil21 · 30/06/2020 08:47

@Bam27 I'm not actually sure on the answers to any of those questions, and I've used them a lot Blush

I would personally suggest you don't use them this month if you think you've missed it. If you use it incorrectly then you'll end up just wasting money on them.

Still no smiley for me, feeling strangely relaxed about it 🙈

OP posts:
ALew15 · 30/06/2020 09:48

@Bam27 I'm not sure either and I've been using them for the last 2 months. What CD are you today? Like @Daffodil21 said maybe skip them for this month and DTD regularly? I started using mine the day after my period ended x

Bam27 · 30/06/2020 13:23

@Daffodil21 @alew15 thank you for replying 😳 I got carried away and tested anyway 😂 I did see something online that says the holder resets after so many days of not using so if that's correct then I should be fine for next month even if it doesn't work this month. I also read on the clearblue website that you can sometimes get the static smiley days without the flashing smiley days so hopeful it still picks up my LH surge even if I was too late for the eostrogen surge.

Bam27 · 30/06/2020 13:26

@Daffodil21 sorry you're still not getting your smiley face. Good that your feeling relaxed about it though, think I would be going crazy!

acaciabluebell · 30/06/2020 13:33

I'm feeling some ovulation cramps after 5-6 months of no ov symptoms. I'm hoping my body is finally resetting and going back to normal! I've been eating healthier recently and taking vitamins so hopefully that's helped

Daffodil21 · 30/06/2020 13:50

@Bam27 that's good. Hopefully you'll still catch it.

I've actually been doing some yoga in the morning and some meditation in the evenings (I NEVER thought I would say those words!!). My friend recommended meditation to me, and I found a programme which is specifically designed for people who are TTC, and it's a different thing for every day of your cycle (you can adjust the length). I actually kind of liked it?! And I didn't lose my shit for the first time when I got another O this morning so it must be doing something to relax me, so will go with it! There's a very small chance I missed ovulation, and it's at the point now where if I got a smiley tomorrow it would give me the longest cycle I've ever had since tracking (apart from after MC), so I think it's most likely that I just haven't ovulated. Sort of nice to have a month 'off', even though we've dtd every other day

hampshirerose34 · 30/06/2020 15:58

Hi all, hope you are all ok on the horrible weather. AF is kicking my arse really heavy and bad cramps. Just ordered 20 CB digital OPKs from amazon for £16 do you think they are real ? X

Poppyismyfavourite · 30/06/2020 16:37

Ooh @Daffodil21 I've signed up for a virtual yoga class on thursday! The instructor looks a bit hippyish for me but I'll give it a go. I was finding the Pilates a bit hard, and think I hadn't really got into it properly before betting pregnant.

SVC11 · 30/06/2020 16:38

Feeling disheartened as no lh surge yet and the hubby is due to go away for work soon for the next 2 months... Sigh...
