Hi all.

Ran out of my usual brand of ovulation test strips today (easy @ home, no longer seem to be available on Amazon Sad).
Thought I’d test with the new brand (One Step) at the same time to see if they gave similar results and, well, I wasn’t expecting it to be this different...

Anyone able to advise? What do you think, ovulating or not? Not sure which test to trust!

I’d say yes - there’s a faint second line on the lower test as well.

When did you test with the one step? I find results with them show best around 20 mins after doing

Fuchsiaheart · 15/06/2020 20:17

The picture was taken about 10-15 mins after testing.

I thought the test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line for OPKs? Normally with mine its noticeably darker.

Fuchsiaheart · 15/06/2020 23:39

Mine has never been darker than the control line, only as dark. But this is why I’m confused, as one test has a strong dark line yet the other has a faint line. Both taken at the same time.

I don't know the answer but I've been using the green brand and I literally never get anything other than the control line.
So maybe they are just crap!

MummaShu · 16/06/2020 11:24

I threw away my one step because they were always faint. I had a similar issue to you. I use the premom ones as they are always super dark at ovulation. Maybe onestep ones are just not very good?

dogmam · 16/06/2020 11:42

@Fuchsiaheart I would say test again tomorrow (today) as even the top test isn't quite dark enough.

I use the one step and was confused at first but this cycle I finally got a dark/er line on fmu and again when I tested about 5pm, the day before though I tested twice and it was really light like yours. I've attached my peak for reference so you can see what they can look like.

I would deffinetly say from looking at both tests, test again as don't think they are quite peak.

@Fuchsiaheart I only really started getting a hang of tracking my OPKs last month and found testing twice a day really useful. I would test first thing in the morning and then late afternoon. I got a big red line and then it dropped he next day. If you can, keep testing and try to test when you feel a little dehydrated or not drank in a few hours. I read online (not sure how much truth is in it) but drinking lots and testing can somewhat dilute your LH levels. Good luck!!
