Secondary infertility - non ivf

Hi! Anyone else struggling with secondary infertility and still trying naturally?

A bit about me:
39, DD1 is 17 in July born by emergency csection.
We started trying for number 2 14 years ago now. Had bloods, laparoscopy and then a round of clomid, I think about 9/10 years ago. Outcome of lap was all clear so then given the "unexplained infertility" title.
We've kind of just got on with life as a 3, we didn't want to have to find thousands of pounds for ivf. Having just turned 39 we want to give one last big effort to see if we can make it happen. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Hi Meggys! In a similar situation but my DD is 4, I've been trying for 18 months for number 2 and have pco although I was able to conceive DD no treatment.

Have you been trying for all these years or had gaps in between? That must be really tough. I wish I could draw a line under it sometimes as it's all consuming. Can't afford IVF either.

What's your last course of action going to be? I wish you all the luck!

Hi Wrigleys123, Thanks for your reply! I think we just came to a natural stop of trying properly but still hoping it might just happen. It is all consuming your right. Last month I was 18 days late (normally regular as clockwork 28 days), took a test thinking I must be pregnant, bfn then af 2 days later. So with that and just turning 39 the same month we thought maybe lets give it one last try. I bought a clearblue advanced digital only used cheap internet ones before and never got a positive but got a definite on these, so fingers crossed!
My sister-in-law has pcos and conceived both her children naturally so hoping for the same outcome for you too x

18 days late that is really cruel @meggysmum2015 ! I get annoyed when I'm a few days late and don't know what's going on!

You poor thing. We struggled for years, the doctors were useless just doing the same old standard tests, then out of the blue I got referred to a wonderful specialist (not in UK) who said he would find out what the problem was. I had to give 20 vials of blood for all the tests he ordered and it turned out the main problem was with DH! Something called DNA fragmentation, which most men have, but not on DH's level (75%). We were told we'd probably never get pregnant with IVF.

Turns out I'd got pregnant naturally right after doing the tests but didn't know! This doctor broke down a psychological barrier by saying he WOULD find the problem, that he didn't believe in unexplained infertility, and that he would get to the bottom of it. He's helped a few friends of mine since.

Don't be afraid of seeking help, it doesn't have to lead to IVF but it might help you get some answers after 17 long years. Good luck!
