No PMS and implantation bleeding (?)

Hi everyone!

I am ttc and I experienced the strangest thing last week. Usually my cycles are ~32 days, moderate to heavy, 5 days on the dot, and I always have PMS like clockwork that starts 5-7 days before (very sore breasts, a bit of nausea, etc).

This month, 28 days in, what I thought was AF came without warning. No PMS, and only mild cramps (barely noticeable) lasting ~5 mins. This AF was lighter than any AF I have had by a decent margin. And the kicker? It was brown (sorry TMI) from start to finish and lasted closer to 4 days than 5.

This is different from anything I've experienced and unusual for me, but from what I've heard about IB, I'm not sure. It was much lighter than usual (and brown the whole way through? Weird) but definitely heavier than what I'd expect spotting to be.

I still have no PMS symptoms. Nothing.

Any thoughts? Have you experienced anything like this before while ttc or before?

Currently going through something similar. My cycle is 31 days, but on day 27 (Tues) I started bleeding light pink / brown stuff. Then nothing Wednesday, then little bits of the same sort of stuff every day since. It's barely anything.

I'm stumped really. I know I had a week of on off bleeding with my first child, so thinking it could be that?

That is so exciting! That definitely sounds suspicious! Have you tested yet? I plan on doing it tomorrow. It will be "day 39" of my cycle at that point if the weird experience really wasn't AF. I'm a bit stumped because I would class it as more than spotting and it happened consistently for a few days, but it is far different from anything I've experienced as AF. Please let me know how things progress for you! I will let you know tomorrow! I'm trying to not get too excited because my body likes to play tricks on me, but I really hope this is it! Xx

Yes please keep me updated! I'm now on day 32 and the bleeding is slightly heavier but it's only there when I wipe, it's not like I need pads or anything. If it is AF its the weirdest / earliest one ever 🤷‍♀️

I did test, but it was bfn.

Ahhhh! That sounds so promising!! Mine felt a bit heavier than spotting to be honest but nothing like what I normally experience and it ended a couple of days earlier than usual too. I'm not trying to get my hopes up because who knows, but it is strange! I really think what you've been experiencing might be it, especially since it only happened when you wiped. When did you take the test? It may well have been too early still!

Hi! Any updates? I took a frer last night and got a bfn :( But I know that fmu is typically said to be better so I'm going to try again in the morning just in case!

Hi @Linneaa sorry to hear it was bfn. How are you feeling?

I think I'm probably out. The bleeding is bright red now and although there isn't as much as a normal period it's super crampy and painful. God knows why it is so early tho.

Saying that a tiny tiny part of me is still tempted to test if this stops anytime soon.

Hi! How are things going for you? Did it turn out that you're definitely out? I got another bfn the other day with fmu so I want to say I'm out. Thank you so much for asking! Of course I need to wait to see if af comes again in a few weeks but I'm fairly sure I'm out of luck this time!

Ah I'm sorry to hear that. Our bodies can be confusing things sometimes.

Im still not sure what's going on with me. I feel the same, and I've had very faint lines on frers (I've taken 3 and they all look.the same) today's test is stronger. It doesn't add up with my dates tho so I am pessimistic.

That's alright! :) It will happen when it happens, you know? It's a bit annoying when the body plays tricks because then it's really hard to know when things are amiss, but either way, it will happen one day! :)

Wow, faint lines on a frer?! Hmmmm! They rarely give false positives don't they? So it most likely means something? I understand not wanting to get your hopes up, but that sounds super promising! Were the faint lines all pinkish?

And the faint line only got stronger today?! That sounds very suspicious :D :D In the best of ways! Please please please keep me updated! Are you going to keep taking one every day or two to see if the line gets stronger or wait a bit?

I know right! If it was an internet cheapy I might not feel so hopeful. From what I read frer are supposed to be the most sensitive and reliable "early" tests.

It's hard to say with the colour because the lines have been so faint. But the one today I would say I am 80% sure it was pink.
