Thou will not get stressed.

Thou will symptom spot casually and not obsessively.

Thou will not test before 12dpo.

Oh wow thanks @whambam89 that's such a good deal!

Amazing news @LeopardLover enjoy your BD'ing.

@kirinm that's good effort. We make the same mistake of DTD every other night in the lead up and when it comes to the peak day we slope off. Annoyed at us for the second month, hope we've done enough!

I had a static smiley Weds evening and we DTD that night but we haven't since. Apparently you O within the next day or 2. X

claireb707 · 26/06/2020 09:14

I'd say probably tomorrow but keep testing till it goes neg again.
Ovulation is normally 12-24 hours after peak

kirinm · 26/06/2020 09:16

@ALew15 we didn't start until CD8 so that's only twice 😂 still feels like a massive effort in this heat. One benefit of having a shorter cycle I guess is that you're close to ovulation once AF ends!

Jaym78 · 26/06/2020 11:09

Hi all hope you good,

Sorry @blodyn91 I only just saw your message to me, I think I will order some and give it a go. Do you mind if I ask... This is a worry of mine.... When doing opks and bbt obviously when ovulation is coming its dtd, has anyone found its turned dtd to a chore more than an intimate time with your partners? This is what worry me about that... We have such a good relationship in all ways i don't want those times to become like a chore? Has anyone any experience of they don't knd me asking u do apologize if Thats a little personal I don't mean to sound nosey xx

kirinm · 26/06/2020 11:13

@jaym78 it sort of has become a bit of a chore but we both want a baby and DTD so frequently is necessary. Doesn't mean we don't enjoy it but neither of us would choose to do it so often if we weren't trying - we have an exhausting toddler who still shares a room with us (renovating her room) and it is boiling hot at night! But needs must etc.

I am already obsessing this month so I need tips on how to detach myself during the TWW - if I ovulate tomorrow then i'll be in the TWW by sunday / Monday. I really need to stop obsessing but not sure how to distract myself.

Jaym78 · 26/06/2020 11:22

Hi @kirinm thanks so much for the reply, yes Thats exactly what i was wondering about.
We hadn't planned a baby but after an 11 week miscarriage it'd been all I can think about, I was so sure i was preg this month. I guess I'm just a little up in the air with it being time of month.
Fingers crossed for you for this month xxx

kirinm · 26/06/2020 11:24

@jaym78 Ah I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I had a MMC at 11 weeks quite a few years ago and found it incredibly difficult to get over. I didn't want to try again for quite a while and then our situation was different and it wasn't the right time.

Did you miscarry last month?

Jaym78 · 26/06/2020 11:30

No, back in November. This month I had every symptom I was so sure.and I'm so sorry this has happened to you too, it rally is difficult isn't it xx

ALew15 · 26/06/2020 12:47

@Jaym78 I also had a miscarriage last year too (November) It took til January to get sorted though. And it's only now we feel happy to try again.
DTD has become a bit of a 'chore' we have been doing it every other day since AF finished. Although once you get going it's fine and like normal x

Jaym78 · 26/06/2020 12:51

@Alew15 I'm so sorry for yous loss. Wishing you lots of luck and baby dust this month xxx.

blodyn91 · 26/06/2020 13:09

@jaym78 During my 2nd cycle we went for DTD everyday of what I thought was FW, by day 5 we were fed up and OH just didn't feel up to it and I ended up in tears. So during AF we chatted about how to go about it without it being stressful and all forced, so decided OPKs so that we are DTD at the right time and thought might as well go all out with BBT this cycle as well just to make sure I do ovulate. I initially said I wouldn't tell OH when I got a peak to reduce pressure- but I went from low to peak on CD16 (by this point in my head I thought I wasn't ovulating) so I was sooo excited that I ended up telling OH. We did every other day from CD11, then DTD CD17,18,19 (we were both excited at the peak that is was wayy less stressful than previous cycle). Also DTD in the mornings not at night, got more energy 😆
2 apps had wrongly predicted my ovulation with just period and cycle length data

LeopardLover · 27/06/2020 06:44

@Jaym78 Morning! How are you feeling today? I'm hoping you feel a bit better than you were. 😊

I think timing your fertile week really helps, so you don't have to tire each other out haha. Luckily I have a never ending supply of lingerie so pulling out a new set almost every night is keeping things spicy for now! When we're both too tired or not in the mood, we don't put any pressure on DTD, even if it's best we do. Obviously our relationship comes first, I think we'd pause if it stopped being about us. TTC is still new to us too.

I know sometimes women say they'd rather not tell their OH when they ovulate or it's their fertile week, but I've been transparent with mine, we wouldn't normally DTD every other night through the month haha (jealous of those who do). Maybe start with a more relaxed approach first?

I totally understand why it isn't like this for everyone. We all have different circumstances!

kirinm · 27/06/2020 07:36

Morning!

Second day of a smiley face on the CB OPK. So does that mean two days of peak or was yesterday's smiley face not peak?

claireb707 · 27/06/2020 07:51

Are yours the ones that you get flashing and solid smileys or just solid? If the latter I'm not sure, what do the instructions say?

Once I get a peak on mine it won't let me test again for 48 hours

kirinm · 27/06/2020 08:05

Just the ones with a static smiley face. I've pulled the test out and the second line is fainter than it was yesterday so maybe yesterday was my peak? All it says are your two most fertile days. Does that include ovulation day?

mm26 · 27/06/2020 09:15

Morning everyone! So I used the clear blue ovulation test for the first time this morning (CD9 of a possibly 32-34 day cycle, it's not usually too regular) and I got this! It had a blank circle which means not peak but the line looks strong to me. Well at least stronger than the internet test strips I've bought previous. I'm not sure if that's how the lines on these usually look?

I don't trust the CB digitals at all. I normally ovulate around CD17 and I have had my 5th day of flashing smilies this morning on CD10 🤔

Rotagilla · 27/06/2020 09:58

Morning, it's hard to keep up on here now but wonderful we have so many ladies.
I definitely ovulated 2 / 3 days late this month. Peak yesterday and this morning...
So strange as I'm usually spot on!
I did have a bad back for a bit around this time, does anyone have symptoms of ovulation? Is this one of them?
Was laughing at other posts about dtd in this heat. It's so true 😂 but needs must.
I've been so calm this cycle I'm actually looking forward to the tww.
If I'm not successful I'm definitely going to invest in a better opk kit / research them more.

I've seen on other posts a list of everyone's details like ovulation, af, testing dates.
Shall we do that?

LeopardLover · 27/06/2020 10:19

@kirinm Morning! I read once you get static smiley you can't test again for 48 hours as you're in peak! That must be it?

LeopardLover · 27/06/2020 10:22

@Rotagilla I'm glad you just ovulated late - strange but at least you know! Honestly, so grateful it cooled down last night 😅 Yay for staying chill!

Yes, that sounds good and will be easier to keep track!

Rotagilla · 27/06/2020 10:26

Morning @LeopardLover, yes very strange but at least i had opks.... o idea about smileys and static smileys so will swot you for next month if needs be.

I think it will be good to know where everyone is at so ladies if you are interested just post details and il compile them...

I'm thinking...
Name
Cycle
Ovulation date
AF due

Do we need all those or are the any ive missed?
Can't remember what I've seen on other posts...

OP posts:
Rotagilla · 27/06/2020 10:27

No idea so I will swot up next month....that was meant to be 🙄

OP posts:
BuckleUp · 27/06/2020 10:39

@Rotagilla I think that sounds like a great idea, count me in! Here are my details:

Cycle - #1 for baby #1
Ovulation date - CD16
AF due - 5th July

Im currently on CD20 and I'm planning on waiting for AF to be late before testing, but we'll see how that goes 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for organising us 😊. Good luck to all xx
