Cycle day 27 positive OPK?

Hey everyone

Has anyone ever received a positive OPK late in your cycle? I have been monitoring my cycle this month with great scrutiny and have noticed things I would never notice before! My temp has stayed stagnant between 36.6-36.9, my EWCM was rare but only appeared twice in phases In my current cycle (cd 18 and cd26 and 27) and my OPKs only peaked until CD 27 (attached). So strange. I think I ovulated late but even with PCOS, this has never happened. My cycles are usually 33-35 days but I do ovulate randomly thoroughout the month or have annovoltory cycles (though not common.)
I’m about to go on tamoxifen next month and wanted my period to turn up next week but not sure that’s gonna happen now! Has this happened to you? Especially those with PCOS?

Thanks x

So is this the only peak you've had this cycle? If so then if you have irregular cycles it's not too crazy for you to ovulate on CD28 - although I would expect AF to stay at bay until at least CD40. So it will be interesting to see when it arrives.

If you had a peak earlier in the month then a dark OPK at this stage of the cycle could just be due to BFP or AF hormones being picked up erroneously as LH, which isn't unusual either.

I don’t believe I peaked but around CD 18 I had all the symptoms but not definite peak ( the c line pretty much matches the T line)

I it’s so hard to determine due to PCOS whether I already ovulated but I did go in for a scan during cycle day 10 and my dominant follicle was 10mm (indicating ovulation due in 5-7 days which matches my cd 18 symptoms.

Make of it as you will Hmm lol.
Just so odd.

I did hear OPKs can pick up HCG and LH surge before AF, pretty fascinating.

@chicaxs is it possible you missed your peak on CD17 by not testing often enough?

Also, would temping be more accurate if you have PCOS? I don't think OPKs are recommended if you have PCOS due to hormonal imbalances giving false positives etc.

Hi

I did test numerous times on cd17 and 18 due to EWCM ( never uploaded all the strips but see attached) and they remained high just no peak. I did temp and had no drop at all this month.i really feel like it’s a annovolotory cycle.

I know OPKs are not recommended for PCOS but I’ve been TTC for 2 years and I’ve learnt to use them with PCOS lol. I do sometimes ovulate which usually the giveaway signs are there but the strips are never this erratic like this cycle. I did have a miscarriage in February- I wonder if this is the reason as my cycles have been messed up since.
