Chemical Pregnancy?

Hi everyone,

Convinced myself I'm having a chemical pregnancy. Had 2 positive FRER at 10dpo & 12DPO - I'll attach pic. Was due my period on Sunday so last night me and my partner did a clear blue digital to see it in writing and it came back 'Not Pregnant'.

I thought maybe my urine was too dilated. Really struggled to sleep so I've just done another one with FMU. 'Not Pregnant' again Sad.

Does this sound like a chemical? I feel so sad that I'm just waiting for bleeding to start.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to a digital tbh. They're notoriously dodgy.

Do you have any other types of tests you could try? Even a stack of cheap Poundland or eBay ones.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 10/06/2020 04:53

When did you get your two positives?

runrunrunrunt · 10/06/2020 04:56

Literally explains in the op when she got the first two positives.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 10/06/2020 05:00

Doesn't say what day of the week, which is what I meant...

Rumples · 10/06/2020 05:55

2 positives were from Wednesday and Friday last week. So first positive was a week ago now on the FRER.

No more tests though! I might give it a few days and see if I start bleeding.

Sorry OP it doesn't sound like it will be good news - if you first had a positive test last week you absolutely should have got a BFP on a digital by now x

Rumples · 10/06/2020 08:13

@ivfgottostaypositive thanks for the reply. I thought as much tbh. I've been having cramps since last night too so it's probably inevitable now.

Pitfalls of testing early I guess Sad

The cramping isn't a good sign when coupled with a negative test.

You could try ringing your local epu to see what they say? They'll probably advise you to wait x2 weeks then come in for a scan.

You could try taking more tests to see if there's a dark line still.

Some women claim to have never got on with cb digitals though. So you might still be ok Thanks

Rumples · 10/06/2020 14:55

@AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings

Thanks for your reply. The cramps have eased off but I'm not holding out much hope.

I'm going to call and grab a couple of cheap tests on my way home from work just to see. If there is only a faint line then I know for sure.

Hopefully if it is a CP the bleeding starts soon so I can get onto my next cycle.

I know how you feel -the limbo between a BFP and a MC is horrible.

Hope you're doing ok.

Chicken123 · 10/06/2020 15:20

Hi @Rumples
I had various positives on all different tests including cb digitals and said I was 1-2 weeks on 29th/30th May. On 6th June I had incredibly awful lower back pains and then morning of the 7th (5 weeks at this point), I started heavily bleeding, of which I still am bleeding (easing off now). My tests no longer show a strong positive but a barely visible second line.
It was my first pregnancy and I never thought id be grieving for something that I’d only known about for 10 days.
I hope your situation is different to mine. Stay positive no matter the outcome though x

Rumples · 10/06/2020 16:03

@AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings

Horrible isn't it

@Chicken123 so sorry to hear that. Hope you're feeling okay Thanks.

I've been reading a few things online and it says to look at it as a positive because it's showing you can get pregnant.

I've just done another test and it's 100% negative.

Just one of those things.

Thanks everyone xx

Awww sorry love I had a chemical pregnancy last month. It's awful. Such a rollercoaster ride! Good news is I just got a BFP and heard it's super common to conceive the following month. Fingers crossed for you!! ✨

Rumples · 10/06/2020 21:08

@fafi thanks so much! I've started bleeding now so on CD1 so fingers crossed for this next cycle.

Congrats on your BFP Smile

I was told by doctors at the miscarriage clinic that chemical pregnancy and early miscarriage can be a sign of fertility/ that your body is receptive to pregnancy. So you might actually find it easier to get pregnant than most.
