@HE88 low dose aspirin is one of the first treatments for recurrent miscarriages once referred and seen by the RMC. The idea behind it is that the placenta doesn’t attach well or it attaches and blood flow isn’t great due to sticky blood or mild clotting( anti phospholipid syndrome) And low dose aspirin prevents this by allowing good blood to the uterus and placenta . Tommy’s recurrent miscarriage clinic advise this as a course of treatment but many gps don’t know about it or advise it because like lots of pregnant studies there isn’t enough evidence to suggests it actually works or evidence to suggest it doesn’t work. But even if u look at the treads on mumsnet or google so many women have taken it and had full term babies after loads of losses and believe it’s because of aspirin. After my second miscarriage my doctor asked me had anyone in my family had clotting issues and I said no but then found out my mums had this clotting issue that was diagnosed in her late 30s and she didn’t have it in her 20s when she had her pregnancies. So I’m thinking this could be my culprit. Photo attached of another mummy who posted on a thread about it

2020wish · 10/06/2020 16:42

Also it can be hard to diagnose and a lot of the woman say their bloods have came back ‘normal’ but after their miscarriage clinic puts them on aspirin this have full term pregnancies. So a lot of woman who can’t afford private and are on long nhs waiting lists just go ahead and take it and carry full term

HE88 · 10/06/2020 16:46

@2020wish thanks for sharing I has no idea this could help have you manged to speak to the doctor yet? Xx

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 16:48

@2020wish it is recommended to commence aspirin if you have had 3+ losses but speak to your GP before starting anything. There is very minimal risk to taking aspirin, it's often recommended to women with history of high blood pressure too.

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 16:53

Really stupid question guys, if I got my static smiley, is that the day I ovulated?

HE88 · 10/06/2020 16:58

@chloedancer897 no question is a stupid question. A static smiley means that's your peak day so you will be due to ovulate anywhere from 12 to 48 hours. The static smiley will show for 48 hours. Xx

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 17:00

@HE88 so I got a flashing smiley on Wed and static smiley on Friday. We DTD Tuesday- Saturday. Now I feel like we didn't DTD enough. We haven't since Saturday.

2020wish · 10/06/2020 17:02

@HE88 no she hasn’t rang me back so I’m gonna have to ring at 8am tomorrow to get put on a triage list

@chloedancer897 I’ve had 3 this year so that’s why I’m wanting to start it and not leave it too late

HE88 · 10/06/2020 17:04

@chloedancer897 sounds like you are covered if you dtd on Friday day of static then day after you should be fine plus if you have dtd all those days leading up to positive opk then some swimmers hopefully have been lurking around ha ha. Xx

HE88 · 10/06/2020 17:05

@2020wish good luck let us know how you get on. Xx

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 17:09

@2020wish I'm so sorry. Hopefully you get answers soon x

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 17:10

@HE88 really I should have been waiting for that static smiley and DTD after so now I'm convinced I haven't done it right.

HE88 · 10/06/2020 17:15

@chloedancer897 I wouldn't worry you have done it loads by the sounds of things this cycle I only did it on cycle days 4, 8, 12 then day of positive opk and day after and I've not done it since. Ive heard people say it's important to dtd on the lead up to ovulation. Have you heard of the SMEP plan? Xx

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 17:18

@HE88 that's what I thought too but now I'm not so sure. I've heard you guys mention SMEP but wasn't sure what it was. I imagine that's me out for this month now

HE88 · 10/06/2020 17:23

@chloedancer897 here is SMEP link
spermmeetseggplan.com/#:~:text=SMEP%2C%20the%20%E2%80%9CSperm%20Meets%20Egg,to%20get%20pregnant%20each%20cycle.

chloedancer897 · 10/06/2020 17:28

@HE88 thank you so much. That's really helpful. I have the femometer OPKs in my basket and will order another CB. I'm due to test on 20th so if that's a BFN (now I think it will be), I'll try this method. Thank you again x

HE88 · 10/06/2020 17:28

@chloedancer897 I followed the SMEP plan the cycle I fell pregnant. I think you might be overthinking it, if you have dtd 5 days in a row with 2 of them being the day of your static smiley and the day after it sounds like you are pretty much covered. 😀 Xx

Dizzy201 · 10/06/2020 17:32

@2020wish fingers crossed you get some more answers so you can adjust accordingly for your best chance of sticky bean x

Have any of you read its all about the egg? That also has supplement recommendations for recurring miscarriage and other scenarios when trying, I found it quite technical but also interesting and something I'm trying myself

HopeForRainbowbaby · 10/06/2020 17:36

@2020wish haha exactly. I got positive with last pregnancy at 9dpo( light line but it was there).
@bubblybon20 welcome to the group! I'm sorry about your story and wishing you and all ladies rainbow babies asap😘 @WellHurrahAndHuzzah have started the positive this month, let's join her ❤️

@ManchNic head up! You are not out until period. When I had my first MC, I have asked the midwife, whether I should expect the same pregnancy ( I had only sore boobs and occasional pain in pelvic area-around 4/5 weeks)..and she answers that every pregnancy is different and you might go through next pregnancy differently.

@2020wish im sorry to hear about your bleeding. I hope you get the proper care ❤️but it looks like you do have all figured out and there is very easy treatment to help with your clotting. Is this just normal aspirin?

@chloedancer897 to me it sounds like you are covered too. It takes one swimmer, and you can get be successful with dtd 5/6 days before your ovulation and not doing it again😘

2020wish · 10/06/2020 17:43

Thanks everyone yes I’ll update when I get speaking to my doctor tomorrow morning and see what she advises. @HopeForRainbowbaby I got my first extremely extremely faint line 9dpo last time and proper faint line 10dpo. And yes just normal low dose aspirin 150mg

VP91x · 10/06/2020 18:22

@MichT4 I can't believe femometer is still reading that as just high! It's getting so dark. It should at least in the higher numbers? Have you tried taking a pic in a different light or a couple of times?

@2020wish if it isn't a risk to take the aspirin and it potentially might help this cycle then maybe give it a go?

@chloedancer897 yeah when you get your static you ovulate within 12-36hrs. Don't bother taking another CB test as it won't read anything until 48hrs later and it resets itself anyway! It sounds like you've covered it well!! Don't stress 😊

Xx

@VP91x I just took another photo in the kitchen and it says 64 now. Even though I’d say it’s faded and it’s probably too much time past now. Should have taken it in the kitchen earlier maybe.

I might try another one at 8, but I’ve had a drink so not sure how good it’ll be.

I feel like even though I haven’t ovulated, I’ve hit the point in the month where time slows down 😂

Is yours still flashing at you? Xx

MichT4 · 10/06/2020 18:36

@chloedancer897 I’m no expert on these ovu tests but I think it sounds like you’re more than covered. Your first static is the one you’d use to start your DTD streak, so you’re all good 💦🤞🏼

VP91x · 10/06/2020 18:37

@MichT4 I definitely think you're peaking today, at the very latest tomorrow morning. Test again at 10pm after a hold!

But crazy that Femometer hasn't put that into your peak window. Xx

@VP91x thanks. I just rang my husband in tears saying we did it all wrong and he reminded me that we also DTD on Sunday (2 days post static smiley) so now I'm feeling a bit more positive. This TWW is the worst. My head is all over the place
