What cycle dates do I go by? Help!

Hi there,

So, my cycles are pretty much 28 days on the dot (one month I had a 26 day cycle but that was it).
We have been actively ttc since March (following an ectopic pregnancy at the end of January) and this month was the first month I used OPKs.

I’m currently CD28 and due on tomorrow, by my normal cycle dates. HOWEVER, I put the positive OPK in the tracking app and because I ovulated around CD17 it has put my cycle this month to 31 days, meaning I would be due on Friday.

I took a pregnancy test this morning and got BFN, but according to my dates I’m only 11 days post ovulation anyway.
I’m getting confused! What dates/cycle do I go by?

Advice please anyone?

Always go off when you ovulated, if you ovulated later, AF will generally be later. After a few months of using OPKs and inputting then in apps, the apps usually get more accurate x
