Pregnancy symptoms...help!

Hi,

I’m so paranoid that I’m pregnant but I’m not sure. So I stopped taking my mini pill around 3 weeks ago and have had sex pretty much every day since. I’ve been using ovulation strips and my LH was highest on 1st and 2nd June. Since then I’ve felt nausea, tight chest, backache and just last night I was doubled over with severe ‘period like pains’. I have done a test today and it’s come back negative but I just feel ‘different’. I’m also getting some sharp pains in my breasts but nipples are not sore?

Any ideas? I guess it’s too early to pick up on a test yet?

Assuming you ovulated on 2nd June you'd only be 5dpo max which is waaaay too early for a pregnancy test. Earliest I'd recommend testing is 12dpo. Tests aren't positive until after the egg has implanted and that happens, on average, at 9dpo with a test showing up 2-3 days later but usually between 6 and 12dpo.
That being said have a Google of 'pregnancy symptoms coming off the pill' as everything you're feeling is normal after ovulating and especially strong when coming off the pill. I think it's the shock of not having experienced those hormones before because of the pill synthetically controlling everything.
It isn't to say you haven't gotten pregnant right away, but try not to get your hopes up based on these feelings.
Keep an eye on the 'tight chest' though as that's not normal depending what you mean by it but wouldn't, as far as I know, be pregnancy related.

I was on the mini pill and did sometimes have a period on it. I also had period pains etc each month with spotting etc. My tight chest feels like heartburn and does calm down when I have gaviscon.
I’m really trying not to get my hopes up but can’t help it! After endless googling I’ve read that with the mini pill you go back to being ‘fertile’ right away?
I had some bloods done today aswell and they all come back okay. Would it have shown up on the bloods or again is it too early?

On the mini pill do you have a proper natural AF, or withdrawal bleed? I was on the combined pill for 13 years, which stops you ovulating so you don't have a proper period, just a withdrawal bleed when you have your 7 day break. Not clued up on the mini pill. General advice with the pill is that you totally can become fertile straight after stopping, but it also can take a few months for your cycles to get back on track. If you got a positive on OPKs though then you most likely ovulated, although a positive OPK doesn't confirm ovulation x

Thank you! Tbh I’m not sure if it’s a withdrawal or a proper bleed but it lasted the same amount of time as a period would? I’ve been reading some threads where women have got pregnant straight away as they have a huge hormone surge after stopping the pill. Whether this is the case for me I have no idea. I’ve been using ovulation strips every day and I had high LH levels for those two days and then it went back down but I’m still getting a faint second line on the ovulation strips?

When is a good time to test? X @MintGreenLife

You can absolutely be fertile straight after contraception 😊
I was on the mini pill too and had periods every now and then but they wouldn't have been the same. So you'll be feeling all of the impacts of increase in hormones you wouldn't have had on the pill. I felt awful for the first three tww's after the pill and was sure I must have been pregnant but I wasn't.
I hope you ARE pregnant though 😊 it is definitely possible but the signs honestly just sound normal. Heartburn is always my first sign I've ovulated.
Fingers crossed for you!

@Cruzxo I always get faint lines on ovulation strips - I'll always have a very faint line every day I test, LH is always present in urine, it's the dark line you're looking for which detects the surge.

Ideally wait until AF is due to test - around 12-14DPO. That's easier said than done though. This is my first month TTC and I'm currently 8/9DPO and itching to test 🙈 X

Ahhh fingers crossed for you! Hopefully good news for both of us 🤞🏼 please let me know how you get on! Xx
