Best Ovulation tracker / app?

I'm using Flo and have been since Jan when we started TTC.

It is always correct about when my period is going to start but I've noticed it's predictions on when I'm ovulating come a little later than when my OPKs tell me. Two questions:

  1. Do you have a favourite app that syncs OPK data as well as cycle predictions?

  2. Would temping be more accurate than OPKs? Is there an app you'd recommend to log that data?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I don't use Flo, so can't really tell how reliable it is for ovulation prediction.

OPKs show that you're about to ovulate - not that you are right night. So there can be hours or a couple of days between a positive OPK and actual ovulation, maybe that would make sense as to when your OPKs are positive and when the app shows you?

Temping only shows you that you have already ovulated - the temp spikes after ovulation and is (other than ultrasound) the only way to confirm ovulation has happened.

Are you tracking your cervical mucus?
You will get egg white cm around ovulation which is also quite reliable that you're about to ovulate.

I use the free version of the Kindara app and have been for many years. It's great, data is easy to put in and customise and what I love most about it is that it's got a community where you can share your chart and other women can comment on it, eg if you have any questions or just want to share your tww with other people.

I do track my CM but on Flo there's no way (that I've been able to see at least), of entering that information. I would be handier to have an app that you can add all that too so that it intelligently updates predictions rather than just always says I ovulate at day 14 (when I don't think I do).

Thanks for the information on temping, I thought it would tell me before so that's v useful! I will take a look at Kindara now.

Thanks so much for responding.

I use a few. I use period tracker, premom, Femometer, and fertility friend. I find the most accurate to be femometer. Plus it has an intelligent recognition feature so you input your opk photos and it reads whether they are high, low or peak. Premom also does this bit I’ve found it not quite as accurate.

Hi OP - on Flo you can track CM and OPK results

When you click the 'plus' to add symptoms, scroll down and theres a section Called vaginal discharge.

Then if you scroll all the way down click 'more parameters' and select ovulation. Then you can track the results of your OPK. My predicted ovulation day according to Flo was Sunday, but today I got my first postive OPK and the app then updated predicted ovulation to tomorrow after i entered that I had got a positive result. So this might help to get your predictions a little more accurate.

Hope this is helpful :)

@Dogsovercats oh my word, thank you so much! This is so helpful, I couldn’t for the life of me work out why that wasn’t an option!? Brilliant, thank you.

I’m also going to download Femometer since that gets a couple of votes!
