Ovulation test kits - going crazy over here

👋 hi, new here and looking for some help to understand ovulation tests... I had a peak test on one day and the day after it was low. I understand that ovulation occurs 24-36 hours after the peak test, so is it occurring when the test is low or did I just test at the wrong time? Trying to work out when i should ensure the deed is done with reference to a peak test.

Also if anyone has any tips on how to not drive yourself mad with waiting and hoping I am all ears 👂

I used to test once in the morning and once in the afternoon using amazon or eBay cheapies. Your peak can pass very quickly so I didn’t want to miss it. The second line will progressively get darker until it peaks (ie darker than the test line) then will gradually fade again.

You will likely ovulate 24 hours ish after the peak so we would DTD on peak day and the day after which worked for us. No advice on keeping sane lol just try not to worry too much as honestly when I relaxed about it a bit that’s when it worked!

How long have you been trying? Good luck x

Hi Teacaketotty - thanks so much for replying! That makes sense to me, I was struggling to put together DTD against peak tests and when ovulation actually occurs but probably reading too much into it. This is only the first month this time around, we had tried previously for 6 months at the beginning of last year but had to put it on hold until now due to personal circumstances changing. Trying not to overthink but the delay makes me feel like I’ve been in this mindset a long time now! Do you mind me asking how long it took you?

Exactly what @Teacaketotty says. Get the cheapest tests and check twice daily. When you see the peak get busy.

No problem - took around 6/7 months for us I think.

Hope your not waiting too long for your BFP! x
