Hi! New to mumsnet so this is my first post Smile
Myself and dp decided in April we would start ttc. I took my last pill on April 21st and bled from 27th to the 30th April. Since then I haven’t had a period or any signs of one at all. Took a pregnancy test on Tuesday just gone and that was negative. I know it takes a while for periods to get back to normal but I thought I’d see something by now, should I be worried?

I was on the pill for 12 years previously (dianette)
Thank you!

Hi @yesterdaytomorrowandfantasy I think it can take a long time for your periods to get back into a 'normal monthly' cycle. Some ladies on here have said they have had 3 periods in 10 months since coming off the pill, so I guess its normal for them to be few and far between.

I am about to stop taking my pill so i'm sure I will be going through what you are going through in the not so distant future :)

Good luck!

Hey! From reading mumsnet, it seems like people are very different. Some go immediately back to regular and others take months. I came off cerazette in December 2017 and my periods didn’t go back to normal for maybe 4/5 months. Very long cycles. No idea if/when ovulation happened in that time, but there have been women on here who fell pregnant while in this wonky stage.

Best of luck!

So I came off 9th of April, withdrawl bleed till the 15th, then had a period 9-13 of May. I have then been trying to conceive and will be testing on Sat but no idea if this cycle will be 29 days like my first or not. Planning on using one of those testing kits next cycle.
I was on microgynon for about 10 years, but I did allow a withdrawl bleed every month or two.

Hey @yesterdaytomorrowandfantasy - I came off the pill late March, had withdrawal bleed for a few days, then havent had anything since! Almost an 80 day cycle? Reading online it can take 3 months to even have a period and longer to get to anything resembling normality.

My strategy is to have sex every 2-3 days and test ovulation every day. I got my first positive ovulation marker 6 or so days ago now. I also use basal temp and the natural cycles app
