Thanks for all the comments, I took another this morning and a definite positive. However I am confused because my husband and I have been very careful not to conceive because I have a large dermoid cyst which we were told would have to be removed (surgery delayed because of covid-19) before we try again for a baby. Could a dermoid cyst give me a false positive on a pregnancy test? I have rang gp and am waiting for a call back this afternoon.

My understanding is that pregnancy tests test for HcG which is only produced by pregnancy but I'm sure the GP will confirm.
