Testing early July / ditching the OPK’s

Hey Everyone!

Anyone else planning to ditch all the testing/ tracking next cycle?

Bit of back story
My husband and I are both 25. We have one DD who is 3 and was conceived while I was on the pill 😆
We have been ttc baby #2 since we got married in October 19 so this is our 8th cycle. I’ve been tracking bbt so I know I’m ovulating. My cycles are 29-31 days usually.
AF was due today 13dpo and bfn on a FRER so I’m pretty certain I’m out. So on to cycle 9!
My DH, bless him is very supportive and I think this is effecting him just as much as me.
We have decided to ditch all the tracking and OPK’s and try to trust our bodies. I think it all was putting too much pressure on us and making it more of a chore rather than enjoying the process.

Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else was going into this month blind and just winging it? Or if anyone is at the beginning of a new cycle and wanted to tag along 😊

Hey! I ditched the OPKs this month and stopped trying to time when we had sex to take the pressure off. We have been ttc our first since Jan 2019, both 26, no health problems etc. Trying to see if the related approach makes any difference! Best of luck to you x

Hey @handbaglover93

Thanks for your reply! How have you found relaxing a little more this month? Have you been itching to do the OPK’s or managed to just put it to the back of your mind?
I’m really hoping I can just try block it all out and just forget about it. I can imagine it’s tricky when you’re so used to doing it though.
I really hope the relaxed approach works for you this cycle 💫 it’s nice to chat to swim one a similar age too! X

It's really hard trying to relax at all! I have felt quite lazy this morning so that's probably helped! I think I will do the OPKs again next month as I just like to make sure I ovulate when I think I do. I have recently started using the Ava bracelet, it's meant to be good if you have regular cycles, it's tracks temperature and lots of other things to help tell you when you ovulate. At this point I'm willing to give anything a go x

I have heard good things about the Ava bracelet! I am also willing to try anything! I might potentially look into it! I will see how things go this month.
This whole ttc journey has made me lose my mojo with every other aspect of my life because it’s all I think about now! I think I’m looking forward to a month off 😂

Hi, we have just started TTC No2 but it took just under 2 years to conceive DD so I’m a pro at temping and ov testing! Decided not to bother this time as it stressed me out more last time I think. I have quite long cycles so don’t usually ovulate until day 19-20ish. The only thing I am being aware of are changed to my body like EWCM to give me a idea when I’m fertile. I managed to predict ov reliably last month by doing this as i started noticing EWCM on CD16 and has a few twinges/ov pain on CD20 and sure enough AF came exactly 2 weeks later on CD33! I just find it much less stressful this way! Good luck to you both!

Hey @littlepoppet1
Thank you for your reply! I agree it’s definitely more stressful. We got stuck straight into opks from the beginning and I sort of wish I’d given it a few months without tracking first.
I think that’s a good idea! I was planning to track cm hoping I’d spot my window. Fingers crossed for all us none trackers this month! X
