Question for those who temp!

Hi all

Just wondering, for those who temp, whether you ovulate 12 -48 hours after the beginning of your peak or at the end of your peak? Just trying to work out what dpo I might be. Unusually for me this month I had 2 full days of peak OPKs - I normally only have peak for a few hours. I don't temp so I normally count the day after my peak as my day of ovulation but I'm interested to hear what info people get from temping! Thanks in advance!

Haven't temped properly (tend to do a few days a cycle then give up recently!) in a while, but when I temped ttc DS my temp shift was 2-3 days AFTER my first peak OPK. I always assumed it was the day of peak reading before I temped, but apparently not! They do say 12-36 hours after +OPK so I guess that does work out about right. I commonly have 2 days of peak OPK too.

I ovulate on the day of my peak. I had 2 days of positive opks this cycle, but temping has confirmed ovulation for the first day. I have temped for quite a while now and fertility friend always confirms ovulation as the day of my positive opk. I don't think I'm typical though.

Last month I got my peak and ovulated the next day, this month I got my peak and ovulated 2 days later x

Thanks for your replies! Very interesting the differences from person to person

I believe your temperature will rise 24h after the egg is released and stay high for at least 3 days to show ovulation has occurred
Sometimes you see a temp dip on the day of or just before ovulation.

I ovulate 2 days after my peak i.e. will get a positive opk in the afternoon, or static smiley in the morning if using CB digital ovulation tests, then 3 days after that my temp will start to increase (so the dip before the 3 elevated temps will be O day). My surge seems to come quite a while before I actually ovulate.

Thanks @cammie4! I might give temping a go in the future

@NannyPear it's interesting that your peak is quite a bit before you ovulate. I've always assumed I ovulate the day after the peak. However that might not be the case

So did I until I temped!
