Can this affect sperm?

So I spoke to my doctor last week as my partner and I have been trying many many months now and still nothing. I've got tests in two weeks but while on the phone, he asked "does your partner take hot baths" my immediate response was no. However it wasn't until after I finished the call and started thinking..... We bought a hot tub four weeks ago!

Now I know that's not the cause as we haven't had it long but I've read hot utar saunas etc are all detrimental to sperm health. Has anyone else experienced this?

He's agreed to stop using it for the time being!!

So long as it's not any hotter than body temperature you should be fine. The same reason that hot tubs and jacuzzi aren't recommended for pregnant ladies as it heats body temperature up too much. But if it's 37c or lower then that's body temperature and should be ok

@angel0071987 I never really looked at it that way before. Thought we normally have it on 39 40!! But I think he'd be happy if he could use it at 37! 😊

It's not just about the temperature level it sets at it's because hot tubs maintain a constant temperature - compared to a bath which might be warm when you get in but only stays at the top temperature for a few minutes before cooling

@ivfgottostaypositive very true. I know I was in there last night for ten minutes and got too hot!!

He's avoiding using it for the time being anyway. And understands that if we do fall, the tables will turn and only he'll be allowed to use it for 9 months on his own lol!!!!
