Newby and TTC - advice needed

Hi all

I am new on here (although I have been a serial stalker and reading everything!).

I am 32 and TTC our first baby. I have been off contraception for about 8 months but not actively TTC.

I have started with the clear blue OPK this month and today I got my flashing smiley. We are trying SPEM and I was wondering... do you do the baby dance every day when you get your flashing smiley or just when you get your solid smiley?

I’ve been using cheapie OPK for a few months just to get to know my cycle a bit better as I’m really irregular and I’ve never even had a positive test so I’m super happy this morning as it’s the first positive I’ve seen!

Thank you everyone! Smile

Hi @PabsyPops, I am in a very similar situation to you as 31 and TTC first and have attempted SMEP for the first time this month. I had the same question a few days ago and from answers on another thread the suggestion was to keep every other day until the solid smiley. I hope this helps, good luck!

Every other day until a positive OPK (a solid smiley). Then three days in a row, a day off and then a final one for luck.

OP also test extra now in the evening/afternoon after a long hold so you don't miss the solid smiley. I got my first one this month and I was so excited!

Yeah, definitely test multiples times a day. My peak was often in the afternoon but fainter the next day.
