TCC, Rasberry Leaf Tea and Cyclogest 400 mg

We have started to try for baby no 2 recently. In my first pregnancy I had spotting so my Doc gave me Cyclogest 400 mg progesterone pills. This time once we decided to try for Baby No 2 I made sure I have some Cyclogest at home as I know I might need them when I have a BFP. In the same time I also started drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea. I heard it prepares your uterus for conceiving. I started having one cuppa a day. On day 17 I tested and had a positive result. On day 18 I started bleeding (similar to my first pregnancy) and I instantly took cyclogest. After a day I realized it must have been a false positive and instead AF showed up way too early. I have had irregular cycles, they vary from 21 to 26 days. I usually ovulate on day 9 and AF lasts for 6 days. I thought ok, no big deal as I already have an irregular cycle I thought it just came earlier this month. However, it has been 16 days and I haven't stopped bleeding. I am starting to worry now because the bleeding is very very heavy and just wont stop. Obviously I stopped drinking this tea and only took one pill of Cyclogest but I am seriously worried that I have done something with the Tea and the Cyclogest. I have never experienced so much bleeding, I have been feeling light headed, dizzy and weak due to losing so much blood. Anyone else have had experiences with Raspberry Leaf Tea or Cyclogest or both?

Please do some research on line and in fertility groups and ring your doctor asap!

I had my first rasberry leaf tea today (Clipper organic), so I have no idea about effects.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your response @Delectable.
I have a scan scheduled for today as the bleeding did not stop. By now it is literally black blood with huge clots :-/.
I have a feeling the Tea helped remove all the old blood and cleans my insides as I do not have any pain nor foul smell.
Anyhow I am curious what the scan will reveal. Its day 25 of AF if it really is AF for that matter.
Wishing you all the best and good luck with the Tea.

Hi hope the scan goes well and the bleeding stops.
Which brand of RLT did you drink?

@delectable thank you so much.

So I just got back from the hospital and sadly there has been a pregnancy. The test came back positive and the scan showed a sack, but no baby :-(.
It is super bizarre because my last two tests I did at home were negative. Honestly, I think I the Rasberry Leaf Tea triggered the miscarriage. Please @delectable be very careful with the Rasberry Leaf tea as it is super strong. How can herbs cause this??? I am shocked. I bought mine from Amazon and its called Organic Pregnancy Tea with Raspberry Leaf, 16 Biodegradable Tea Pyramids xxx

Hi OP, I'm so sorry for your MC 😔. Just wanted to mention that I have only heard of women using raspberry leaf tea to help bring on labour around their due date. Sending love, hope you're ok xx

PinkFlamingoGirl · 08/06/2020 17:32

Also...I'd just like to add that I could be wrong and totally ignorant on its uses. That's all I've heard it being used for which doesn't necessarily mean that it's not good for other things. Sending love ❤️ xx

Whatdidyoucallme · 08/06/2020 17:39

Hey dear @PinkFlamingoGirl thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I feel very strange... had to have a little cry but the good news is, it shows my body is capable of falling pregnant a second time.
No, you are totally right. So they usually say that you should drink Lady's mantle tea in your first cycle and once you get your period you should switch to Rasberry Leaf Tea. Under no circumstance should you drink both teas while being pregnat. So I think because my test was negative throughout this odd journey, it was a false negative. Hence I thought I can continue with the tea, although I was actually pregnant. Damn it these stupid false pregnancy tests are so confusing x

So just to add to the previous comment regarding Rasberry Leaf Tea during pregnancy, it is used yes, but only to start inducing labor towards the end of the pregnancy. Not during the pregnancy if that makes sense x

@whatdidyoucallme so sorry to read you've had a miscarriage. I suspected that might be it but wanted you to see a doctor first.
My understanding is that it helps make the uterus conducive for implantation. I'll do some more research (FB groups mostlyConfused) on it.
Herbs are powerful.
Here's to the next cycle being one that results in a baby.

Whatdidyoucallme · 08/06/2020 20:29

@Delectable thank you for your kind words. No you are right, it does help prepare the uterus but I think we should not take it when being pregnant. And I was drinking it while pregnant. I think that was the issue.
Anyway its done now, and hopefully the next cycle will be a success.

@Whatdidyoucallme it turns out raspberry tea is best used CD1 till just before ovulation. It's not to be used from Ovulation till about 3rd trimester.
I hope you're better.

Wow, I cant help but feel guilty that this is all my fault :-/. I should have not had these tees. Anyways, it is what it is. Thanks for your time ladies x
