Hi,

My cycle has been pretty regular for the last few months, period arriving about the same day each month, give or take.

During the middle of my cycle I have almost 2 weeks of eggwhite cm. My mother tells me that she, her mum, and grandma had lots of cm so it is normal for us, apparently. Does anyone else have a really long eggwhite time?

This is our 3rd ttc month, I already have two boys (both conceived first try) and am 28. We've been having sex every night since the start of my eggwhite (around the 17th). My last period started on the 4th of May. Last night sex was painful on my cervix, could this mean it is low or just sensitive? What does this mean for conception?

Yesterday I had my last little bit of eggwhite and I have been very bloated for a week. My period is due in about a week. Is this normal? What's going on? Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm not sure about the specifics of your situation, but I often advise that people have sex every other day when trying to conceive. It's not clear whether you've been aiming to only do it whilst you expect to be ovulating?

I've seen a lot of stories of people, ironically, missing their ovulation because they were aiming to time sex with it. Whereas if you aim for every other day then you remove the stress (cause you're no longer doing it just to conceive and you don't need to track anything) and give yourself a greater likelihood of conception.

Good luck Smile

My AF has moved from being due 28th May to 5th June due to late ovulation according to my app! However temp dropped today and start spotting so think AF is on her way. My cycles are usually very regular, ever 31 days. Its frustrating I know, we are on our 6 month of trying. Have you tried using BBT charts? X

Thank you both for your replies. Much appreciated!

To Curiosity101, We started having sex nightly from the second day of eggwhite and are still doing the ttc dance just in case. My eggwhite stopped a day or two ago. We aren't stressed (this month!), not sure why, just enjoying the "ride" now :P. I've seen arguments for both every day and every other day. You reckon every other day is best? Thanks for the luck!

To Spinksy9, I hope it happens for you soon! 6 months sounds tough, though sadly not uncommon. I haven't charted as my sleeping pattern is a bit up and down and I'm not sure I could trust the reading but if we don't make it this month I might start. Interesting that your late ovulation bumped up your period.

If ovulation is the last day of eggwhite, and my last day of it is about a week away from my next period, isn't that extremely late?

Thanks again :) x

I would suggest that every day of the month is probably best in terms of the chance of falling pregnant. But it's also one hell of a commitment and could take the fun out of it!

Second to that I would say every other day of the month and then upping that to every day during your EWCM time.

Finally every other day throughout the month regardless of whether you think you're ovulating or not.

Personally we went for every other day throughout the month so that we didn't have to track or count anything. I came off of the combined pill, had a 35/36 day cycle and then I fell pregnant in the second month of trying. I ended up being put back 10days when I went for my dating scan so I believe I must have had a long cycle/ovulated late on the cycle where I fell pregnant.

I would not reccomend having sex every day. Every other day will allow chance to build up sperm count x
