PG symptoms before AF due

Thought I'd start a thread on this and I am interested in anyone else's views/experiences.
With ds2 I KNEW I was pg so recorded what I was feeling after conception and before AF due - lots of twinges in my lower abdomen (in the centre and on the LHS), nausea, sick at the smell of cig. smoke, hot flushes, hot at night, awake at night, vivid dreams and the most terrible AF pains (and lower back pain) for two days before AF due.
A couple of months back I thought I might accidentally be pg again. I felt sick all the time, couldn't stand the smell of smoke, had twinges and had cramping. It turns out I wasn't pg.
As a matter of interest, do you ladies get lots of symptoms of pg every month???
Are there any early symptoms that you get ONLY when pg?
The reason I ask is that we have just started trying this month for #3 and I am tempted to ignore every feeling in the run up to AF as I reckon you get these feeling, pg or not.

MommyD,
Good idea

When i was PG i had symtoms of sore boobs (DP loved that part cause they got bigger) sick, loo trips, and in general i felt different.. Oh and mood swings!!

the few days before af was due i got really 'flashy' headaches and felt an uncontrollable urge to sleep. i also had some light spotting before af was due which stopped on the day it was due

Unfortunately a lot of pg symptoms coincide exactly with pre-menstrual symptoms. Having said that, I knew I was pg second time round about 4-5 days before AF was due because I started getting an unmistakeable metallic taste in my mouth that in my case is the pre-cursor to morning sickness. That's a symptom that doesn't coincide with AF! But I still wasn't sure, particularly because I tested negative until a few days AFTER AF was due.

Hard to do but when ttc trying to forget about it till you can test is probably the most sanity-preserving option.

what is AF?

When TTC you put all sorts of ideas in you head before AF is due (well i do) tummy pain, back ache etc.. The 2 are so alike (AF and PG)

Just thought I'd add my experience on this, even though a few days have passed since last message. Every 6 months or so I feel v. sick in last week or 2 of cycle (when not pg). Never felt sick that early when actually pregnant (twice). Now ttc and feeling v. sick, with af due some time soon, so who knows.....
