Anyone else with really long cycles?

Good morning.

I have had long cycles for the last couple of years. These can vary in length from 33 days up to 41 days. I regularly use OPK’s and get very strong positives. This is usually around cycle days 21 - 30. I get EWCM around ovulation and also a bit of spotting.

I have been trying to conceive for over a year. I’m 29 years old and have no health issues.

Has anyone else experienced long cycles and successfully got pregnant?

Jo :-)

I think mine were pretty long when I came off the combined pill (35-28 days). I fell pregnant in my second month. I was put back by 10 days when I went for my dating scan and had only estimated my ovulation date so I probably ovulated around CD 20/21.

My situation may have been different from yours as my cycles may have been regulating after coming off the pill. But I'd been on the pill for 14+ years so I have no idea how long my cycle is naturally.

The only advice I can give is to make sure you're DTD every other day throughout the month and also if possible every day around the few days you expect to ovulate. We just did it every other day through the month though, mainly cause we didn't want to put too much pressure on ourselves and do it 'just to conceive' so to speak. But we did want to maximise our chances. I think there is a huge amount of blind luck involved though.

Wishing you luck for this cycle!
