Sex on ovulation day!

Hi!

So annoyed with myself. We have been trying for 7 months. I have extremely irregular periods.
I'm currently on CD42, all month we have been DTD at least every 2 days just incase!!!!
Over the past few days we have been a bit lax with it and last had sex 4 days ago. TODAY (Of all days) i got a positive ov test.

Problem is my husband is working away and will only be home tomorrow.

Has anyone managed to conceive just by having sex on the day of ovulation??
Please give me some hope 😔 x

@TippingTulips we did up until 3 days ago. That's why I'm so annoyed with myself.
Think because my cycle has been so long we (mostly me) got so fed up with it being 'mandatory' and wasnt seeing any signs of ovulation, decided not to bother for a couple of days. As soon as I become complacent, my body decided now is the time lol
The whole TTC plus long irregular cycles is really getting to me- which probably isn't helping our situation! 😒 x

Yes I have 2 DCs conceived on ovulation day. As close to ovulation is best. Xx

I'm as sure as I can be that all my three boys were conceived on ovulation day. Ovulation tests weren't available back then so couldn't check for certain. DH worked away a lot so we only managed it once at the right time on two of the occasions I conceived, with DC1 and DC2. We'd been trying for 11 months for DC1 but it took literally once with DC2. So yes, there's hope, OP!

Yep, had sex once in fertile window on ovulation day after trying for nearly 18 months and I am now 7 weeks
