Timing for DTD

Does anyone know whether it's actually better to DTD every day in your fertile period? Or let the sperm 'build up' and do a well-timed couple of shags around ovulation?

I've heard theories about both methods.

I'm tracking ovulation properly for the first time this month and unsure how 'hard' (ahem) we ought to be going at it - so to speak...!

It's CD 14 today (peak LH was yesterday at 7pm) and we have done it today and the two days previous. Shall we have another go tomorrow?!

I'm just having a moment reflecting that I'm posting this question on a public forum but this is what over a year of desperately TTC does I guess Confused

Any advice much appreciated

Once we got a positive OPK we DTD for that day and the following day - then whenever else if we felt like it. Your positive OPK means you will ovulate in the 24 hours after usually.

We probably took a more extreme approach and had sex every day in the fertile window but hey it worked! BFP last week 😬

@Icouldstillbejoseph I have been thinking the same thing recently. Last month we DTD every day in fertile window but still BFN. This month we are trying every other day until we get positive LH and then will DTD for three days in a row. The reason we are doing this is because if we do it every day in the lead up to LH surge, by the time the surge comes we can feel a bit sexed out.

Would love others thoughts or experiences of BFPs.

Congratulations @MrsBrown91!

@jx0x0 good luck! I don't think I've had this much sex for ages Grin

I've tried every which way, still bfn!

Yep @cosmo30 I feel the pain. I have vented my utter frustration and sadness and despair at this many, many times on here. It's shit.

We had a reproductive endocrinologist. He recommended an every other day schedule throughout the month.
