Just want AF to arrive so new cycle can begin...

AF due in 3 days.

Am sure I'm out this month - negative FRER today and I have the usual PMS acne.

Just want my period to come already so that I can get this useless cycle over with and have a commiseration beer.

Just frustrating as have been taking pre-conception vitamins for months, cut out caffeine, no alcohol during TWW, have DTD every other day, tracked ovulation and with no success.

Anyone else fancy a moan whilst waiting for AF to show up?

@mrswilso I drank allll the alcohol this last AF, have very much taken the drink til it’s pink to heart now as I’m sick of holding back my life 😂

@Ughmaybenot sorry to hear it’s another unknown cycle again this time and still no AF 😞 I can honestly confirm hitting the year mark like massively sucks but there’s deffo a body relief that I didn’t know I was holding being able to get stuff moving with GP and checked out and while I’m the same, I just want to be pg and didn’t think I was overly stressed given our age, it wasn’t until I had that first GP session that I realised how much I was holding and how much I’ve now actually relaxed. So my advice is listen to your OH, he hopefully knows you best! And tbh I can’t give any useful advice on staying calm about it, I tried all the yoga and meditation (Tbf they did at least make me feel better in my head), I would encourage you to do something stress relieving during this time, even if you don’t feel you need it, to just try focus on something else even for that short while. And yes you will get your lovely baby one way or the other, I’m wishing you lots of baby dust ✨

Ughmaybenot · 29/08/2020 09:48

That’s a really interesting insight @LS2020, thank you. You might well be right... and yes, DH does have form for seeing in me that which I’ve yet to see for myself. I probably need a period of just stepping back maybe. I have found that it seems to be in my head nigh on constantly these days.
God I’m going to be the most OTT ‘isn’t he/she AMAZING, breathing and existing and all?!’ mum 😂

LS2020 · 01/09/2020 09:58

@Ughmaybenot It’s soo hard when people just tell you to relax or take your mind off it. I really want to take a step back but almost don’t know how as I know exactly when I’m going to O etc and my mind just focuses on the calendar 😞 I think for me was how much it cut when others announced their pregnancies and I realised how angry I was about it, and I kinda thought not cool, that’s a gorgeous little baby in the world, you can’t hate everyone and that’s calmed me a bit 😂

Omg I’m going to be the same. Cooing over every little thing they do!!

How are you doing and getting on?

@mrswilso @CaribouCarafe hope you’re keeping well too x

Ughmaybenot · 01/09/2020 13:12

@LS2020 yea to be fair, that would be tough. I suppose I have that as a ‘bonus’ that I have no bloody clue when or if I’m ovulating 😂 still no sign of AF, day 56. Feel a bit pissed off as I’ve been crampy but nothing yet.
We’re so, SO busy with work right now, I haven’t got much headspace for much else, which probably isn’t a bad thing I suppose.

LS2020 · 01/09/2020 17:10

@Ughmaybenot it’s still so frustrating for you though. I’m so mad for you that the GP won’t do anything 😞 have you thought about an online day 3 blood check? I did one for like £80 and it was reassuring about 6 months ago. I think it was a company called Thriva. Really hope it’s there soon for you 🤞🏻
No you’re so lucky to be busy in that respect, I’m still wfh and bored. Like obv grateful to still have a job etc but not great when TTC and keeping busy!

Ughmaybenot · 01/09/2020 17:17

@LS2020 ridiculously so. I guess as far as they’re concerned I’m still young and haven’t been trying long, but that isn’t even the main issue really. Having a cycle which is so messed up is surely an issue in itself? Who knows anymore 😂
I haven’t but I might look into it, even just to reassure myself, or otherwise I suppose!
Yea, it’s good, and to be honest, we’ve been quite aggressively expanding this past twelve months and we probably wouldn’t have gone quite so hard if I was pregnant as there’s always the risk factor. So maybe it’ll all become clear it’s happened for a reason one day? I like to think it will anyway.

LS2020 · 03/09/2020 18:27

@Ughmaybenot I’m pretty sure it says that on the NHS website that if they’re not regular anyway it’s cause for further tests?
Yeah or maybe the other option is they’re were super expensive so won’t do again but I used the clearblue advanced digital OPKs and they detect estrogen as well as LH so could maybe help too? But I think they were literally £40 for 20 sticks which isn’t great for you. Maybe something like the fertility monitor which is expensive but at least you can POAS and see what trends you have?
That’s how I’m trying to see it too. We got a 2 year loan to consolidate some debt a year ago and do up our new house and at least if I get pg now, I can take longer Mat leave as we’ll have paid it off while I’m on full pay and less cost to us for me to be off so that’s what I’m holding onto too!

Ughmaybenot · 04/09/2020 13:24

Well that’s what I thought too @LS2020. I’ve taken a massive step back tbh, I’m trying not to think of it much at all at the moment, and I feel better for it. I’ve got too much else going on to think about it much anyway 😂
That’s definitely a bonus, I think it helps to try and look for positives when it can be so easy to just see the negatives.

Ughmaybenot · 04/09/2020 13:34

@LS2020 you spurred me on to take a bit of a lead 😂 I’ve just made an appointment to see the doctor next Wednesday morning, and the receptionist has said that she’s also booked a nurse appointment as hell probably want to do bloods too, given what I told her. So at least I’ll get some answers on why I’m so irregular even if they can’t fix it as such.

LS2020 · 04/09/2020 21:20

Yess @Ughmaybenoti know how annoying GPs can be but they kinda get paid to see people so they can put up with us 😂 I saw a female GP and that helped a lot, don’t know if that’s an idea for you? Can you up the TTC at all and just say you’ve been going a year might get you some fertility ones done too ☺️

Ughmaybenot · 05/09/2020 09:33

Haha yea tell me about it @ls2020, I think we can all be a bit inclined to not be pushy enough, so I need to work on that!
I toyed with the idea of asking for a female doctor, as the one I have had previously was so truly lovely, but I decided to stick with my usual male doctor in the end as he’s been there (and very helpful too) with the other conditions I have. I may change my mind after seeing him as he can be very blunt but we’ll see 😂
I did think about it... but I had my coil taken out there in feb so I think they’ll see through that one unfortunately 😂

LS2020 · 05/09/2020 09:59

@Ughmaybenot well at least you know you’ve got the option if your first GP isn’t helpful! Hmm that could throw a spanner in the plan... maybe just skip over that bit 😂 did you not have any AF on the coil? It’s non hormonal so hopefully they shouldn’t give you any issue about that causing it

Ughmaybenot · 05/09/2020 10:06

@LS2020 yea exactly. He’s a good guy, but it’s nice to know the option of the female doctor is there, should I decide id rather deal with her. There’s only the two of them at the surgery, it’s such a tiny village practice 😂
Er no, I did get periods, just irregular like now really. The only difference is that they were a lot heavier. Slightly more regular, maybe? But honestly I can look back over 18 months+ on the app I use and there’s just no pattern at all. But no, I won’t be standing for them even suggesting it might be the coil removal causing any irregularities, that’s categorically not the case!

LS2020 · 06/09/2020 07:19

@Ughmaybenot oh that’s how mine was growing up but I think it was one doctor and one nurse and then if the doctor was on holiday we got the one from the next village over. Poor guy could never have a holiday or sick day without people demanding to know where he’d been 😂
Do you feel like they’ve always been the way of slightly irregular? I guess I could see why there’s less concern if it’s always been that way but still think it shouldn’t be dismissed

Ughmaybenot · 06/09/2020 08:45

@LS2020 literally the same here 😂 the outrage when he has the audacity to have a day/week off 😂 the second gp is a very new addition and the trouble they had trying to convince some patients to go with her rather than dr old-trusty was hilarious!
Yea admittedly they have always been irregular, if I got them at all. I started late, maybe 15, had a couple then met my first boyfriend and got the implant so they stopped altogether for three years before having two/three week periods at random intervals, then the injection for a bit so didn’t have periods much on that, then the coil which was in for, I think, about 4 years.. which brings us to now. So no, it’s never been a normal cycle by any stretch of the imagination.

LS2020 · 07/09/2020 16:40

@Ughmaybenot I definitely think they should be keen on referring you if that’s the case, even if it is your “normal”. I hope it all goes well.
My OH’s SA came back fine today and being sent for a scan which is hopeful.
8dpo and had some weird symptoms though. V sore boobs (don’t get this sore), had weirdest like yellow snot like CM this morning and come down with thrush but only thing I’ve had is a bath, OH has been away so not DTD in a few days. Sad when you start getting excited that thrush is a positive sign 😂

LS2020 · 07/09/2020 16:40

@CaribouCarafe @mrswilso @AKcheer hope you ladies are all keeping well and wishing you some BFPs too 💗

mrswilso · 07/09/2020 18:51

Hi girlies 💕
Sorry I've been quiet - we've been really busy! We're renovating our entire flat and the plasterer is due in next week to start the first "phase" so I've been frantically filling holes and washing walls and trying (and failing) to keep up with clearing the endless dust away 🤣 on the upside I've had no time to freak out about TTC!
I'm over it this month...this is cycle 6 and I never in a million years (probably quite ignorantly) thought it would take this long. I don't know the right word but "losing interest" sums it up.
I'm dangerously close to losing my shit at the next person who announces "surprise! I'm pregnant!" IRL 🤣
Do any of you find that? I get excited for other MNers with their BFPs but when it comes to real life, face to face announcements I get all bitter and twisted!

LS2020 · 07/09/2020 19:00

@mrswilso well they say distraction is best way to conceive so fx for you this month!
Haha yes I do. My line manager is 20 weeks next month and I’m super over all her updates. I feel I’ve run out of people o don’t care about becoming pg so know it’s going to be someone close next 😫

mrswilso · 07/09/2020 19:05

@LS2020 🤞🏻 you too hun! That snot-like CM is supposed to be a good sign is it not? 🤩

LS2020 · 07/09/2020 19:09

@mrswilso I feel like this has been the closest actually realistic symptoms and not me making up ones to fit my agenda but it’s been 15 months so just can’t muster up the courage to get excited about it 😔
My RHR has dropped off today so if it goes back up I’ll test but probs won’t bother if it keeps dropping

mrswilso · 07/09/2020 19:35

@LS2020 you're quite right to be taking it as it comes - I've definitely taken that approach the past two months and it's made such a difference in the TWW. Keep us posted though!
I'm CD13 today and have a feeling I'll get my peak on Thursday or Friday so I'm quite chilled out this cycle. Hubby and I haven't been putting too much pressure on DTD constantly this time around either. We've just been DTD when we want to so far. We were chatting earlier and we'll probably try to ramp it up from tomorrow onwards for babymaking purposes 🤣 done it last night so I'm quite happy that we'll be covered and relaxed about it all 😌
If it's BFN this month too then so be it, I think the further I step away from stressing about it, the closer the BFP will be 🤞🏻✨

LS2020 · 08/09/2020 16:37

@mrswilso yeah that’s such a good way to view it and it deffo helps feeling more relaxed by it. The one year mark was like the best and worst thing because obv awful it’s not happened but in a way my mind is like meh isn’t going to happen and is on new things so it hasn’t hit as hard at all the last couple of months. Being able to get GP help was a weight off too.

I will do, trying to hold out til Friday to test. RHR is up this am but only 1bpm up and is still 2bpm down from Saturday so want it to get a bit higher first 🤞🏻

Ughmaybenot · 09/09/2020 13:12

Howdy team!

I feel like it’s a nicer, more chilled vibe on this thread at the moment, myself included. It’s so hard not to get stressed and upset by it all, but I truly believe all our luck will be in one of these days 💗

Been to the doctor this morning. Did bloods, results on Monday. PCOS was mentioned but neither myself nor the doc felt that was all that likely, as I have very few other symptoms. They’re checking my thyroid function tho, and a few other things. They’re not sure really but they are taking it seriously so that’s good.
Added bonus, they’re also checking my folate levels and my b12, which is linked to my EDS. Needed to do that for a while.

LS2020 · 10/09/2020 06:35

I really hope so too @Ughmaybenot! We will all get there ☺️

Oh I’m so glad they’re doing loads of checks for you. It’s really good just for piece of mind too, I think that helps mentally to chill out a bit too. I certainly felt that way!
