AF due in 3 days.

Am sure I'm out this month - negative FRER today and I have the usual PMS acne.

Just want my period to come already so that I can get this useless cycle over with and have a commiseration beer.

Just frustrating as have been taking pre-conception vitamins for months, cut out caffeine, no alcohol during TWW, have DTD every other day, tracked ovulation and with no success.

Anyone else fancy a moan whilst waiting for AF to show up?

@Littlebee1990 thanks for that - think I needed this this morning as currently squinting at a BFN thinking I can maybe see a small shadow of a line 😂 I’m wondering about deleting my Fitbit app for a month so I can’t obsess over my timings as much

@LS2020 - I’m going to try and switch off from apps too, didn’t realise how much of an obsessive personality I have. I was staring and squinting and trying to break in to a BFN FRER yesterday at 5AM 🙈

Yeah I promised myself last month I would keep really zen this month and not worry about and on here I toddled at 2dpo with all my apps on the go and documenting every move I make Hmm

I'm currently 3dpo this month will mark a year of trying if unsuccessful:( I'm starting soy isoflavones today as my OV date ranges from 17 to 32 so hoping to bring it forward as waiting 32 days for OV is torture! X

@LS2020 I was the same at 2am last night - fished out the very negative pregnancy test out of the bin (that I'd taken 15 hours earlier) and was ferociously squinting at it. Really mental.

Thankfully DH doesn't realise what a nutcase I am (although he does occasionally shoot a judgmental look at our growing pile of recycling with the increasing number of HPT boxes in it!).

@AnxiousAnnie86 really hope you get the shorter cycles you're hoping for. Thankfully mine are only 29 days long and I ovulate around CD9/10, but having earlier ovulation then makes the long wait until AF hellishly long as well.

Does anyone know how to get your body to ovulate later? Am getting convinced that I'm ovulating too early for a viable egg...

WHEN?
You take Soy Isoflavones, like Clomid, on either CD 1-5 , 2-6, 3-7 , 4-8 or 5-9.
If you take soy Isoflavones during the later time bracket, for example CD5-9, you shall strengthen the egg that has already started growing producing a healthier egg. The earlier in your cycle you take It, the higher your chance of releasing multiple eggs but these eggs will not be as mature as the eggs grown from taking Soya later.
A lot of women will choose the middle cycle (3 -7) allowing time for a strong and healthy egg to develop without erasing the chance of a second egg being developed and released.

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

DOSE?
The dose is really down to you but you should always use the lowest amount that works for you.
With Clomid the starting dose is 100mg. Soya Isoflavones are said to be half the strength of Clomid, so it makes sense for the starting dose to be 100mg.
The trouble with 100mg of soya is that the capsules tend to come as 40mg. So you have a choice of starting at 80mg.
Some women change the dose on different days. So they may start at 120mg for the first 3 days then give an extra boost for the last 2 days with 160mg.

It seems it's not recommended for ladies with regular cycles and ovulation:

"If you cycle regularly and ovulate regularly then DO NOT TAKE SOY ISOFLAVONES. You may actually cause an imbalance in your body that never existed in the first place" Source 1

"If your menstrual cycles and ovulatory cycles are regular, you must not take soy isoflavones as they may cause hormonal imbalances in your body. On the other hand, if you have issues with ovulation or irregular periods, then you can try soy isoflavones, however, only after consulting with your doctor."

I'll stick with SMEP next month, but still this might be useful for those with less regular periods and ovulation than me.

@CaribouCarafe haha I did that with yesterday’s too, even though it’s totally invalidated at that point! I keep it well hidden I think because I’ve got the IC ones so they’re only a little foil packet but because you can buy 10 early ones for like £4.50, I go through them so quick randomly checking

I've been cramping all day but no AF yet.

Meanwhile I have a beer chilling in the fridge Grin. Just waiting for the first sign of blood so I can enjoy it!

@dogmam I’ve heard it’s possible to just skip a period sometimes? Might be worth starting your OPKs when you normally would just In case you skipped one last month?

@CaribouCarafe I’m the same, cramping all day and face has broken out this morning along with dip in HR so deffo think AF is on their way, not due til Saturday tho so think going to be a wine-less wait sadly!

@AnxiousAnnie86 I think @mrswilso knows a bit more about it, but I believe it’s supposed to work like BBT and that it should follow certain trend so mine drops low over AF and then peaks at ovulation, then it should basically stay high and increase if you’re pregnant (think you can get a small dip for implantation). But mine dropped straight after O this month and never really went back up so no idea whats happening with mine as normally stays high after O and then drops the day before AF!

Oooh that definitely seems to happen too @LS2020 - everyone's pattern is a little bit different so it's hard to use it as a solid rule...
My chart right now doesn't necessarily follow the "increase and stay up rule" yet, but I'm still a lot lower BPM than I usually am at this time in my cycle as I should really be dropping from a high peak in prep for AF so I'm still not sure what to make of mine this month 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah my HR is all over the place last two weeks (but all within 2 beats) and I’ve had none of my AF symptoms so worried I’m going to be missing a period this month and it’s going to wind me up no end 😞
