Hi
Femometer said my predicted ovulation was 12th May. However today that changed to 21st May due to my BBT chart. Only DTD on the 18th around then as didnt realise and AF is due wednesday so feel it's too late for any implantation. However, has anyone else experienced late ovulation and still got pregnant?? Wondering if this is why i havent got pregnant yet, as first month doing BBT and didnt even consider late ovulation!

Hi @Spinksy9,

I love a chart... can you post yours? If it’s just the app changing the date then it’s going by its ‘rules’ for detecting ovulation, if you read it manually it might make more sense.
If you did ovulate late then AF will usually be delayed anyway, your luteal phase doesn’t really change much xx

Wait and see what your chart does over the next week or so. If it was a random late ovulation then you won't get your period on Wednesday because it will still be too early. If you do get your period this week then you may have a short luteal phase, but I wouldn't panic until you've been temping for a few cycles and have more data.

Hi, so I didnt start taking my temps until half way through due to me waiting for the thermometer. This is our 5th cycle and thought I'd change it BBT

It’ll make more sense when you have full cycles worth of data but I think you’re actually looking good with just an anomaly on day 20 (I think, can’t zoom in that far!). Femometer lets you mark anomalies, maybe try that and it’ll recalculate. You need 6 low temps before 3 high to confirm ovulation, I think it’s just reading it like a computer. Do you do OPK’s too? xx

Spinksy9 · 25/05/2020 13:12

No I dont. I'm trying not to get over obsessed with the whole process of trying. I wanted to just see how things went but after 5 months of mot getting pregnant I thought I'd try BBT. I've done all the vitamins and stuff! But stopped those as they messed up my periods

It's quite hard to tell without more temperatures in the first half of your cycle. You say you were waiting for your thermometer but you do have some temps at the beginning. Did you change thermometer?

Mandalory · 25/05/2020 15:29

I’d try marking that one day as abnormal and see how it looks (go to ‘history records’ on the front page, tap on the anomaly one and tick the box for it-it won’t delete it but it’ll make an allowance with the calculations).
I know what you mean, it can seem obsessive! BBT and OPK are looking at 2 different things, OPKs tell you when ovulation is going to happen, BBT confirms that it has and the two together make a more complete picture. For timing, OPK’s are probably more useful but DTD every other day will cover you anyway. Hopefully you won’t need another month, but charts improve a lot once you’ve got more data in them and in the routine xx
