TTC after vasectomy reversal?

Is anyone else TTC after a VR? Or has conceived after VR? How long have you been trying/ how long did it take? I haven’t come across many threads so thought I’d ask!

I know of a couple who regretted his snip within a week. Paid private for reversal and had a ds less than a year later. Went on to have 2 dd's despite him getting stomach cancer!
I believe the longer the snip has been done the less chances of conception on reversal.

@Windyatthebeach thanks for your reply, yes you are right the longer the snip has been done the changes do decrease!

I should have mentioned my partner had his VR 12-13years after snip and it was a success. Just wanting to hear other people’s story’s really, I don’t know anyone in our position!

My husband had his vasectomy in 2006 with his previous marriage. We had it reversed in 2016, 10 years later. We hadn't been ready to TTC until this year and after actively trying we fell pregnant within a few months. I'm now 8 weeks!

@RaN88 that’s amazing! Congratulations! We looked at getting it reversed it 2016 but we were warned about the risk of scarring so put it off till last year (amongst other reasons) Your story sounds so similar to mine, you’ve given me a bit of hope! x

@RobinRose we never went back to test the result (sperm sample was requested!) as we were petrified it wouldn't have worked. So we decided between us that if it happened it did and if it didn't then it wasn't meant to be! Are you TTC?

@RaN88 we had a sample after 3 months which showed it was a success and sperm count within the normal range (on the low side but still within range!) the consult expects this to improve over time so we are keeping things crossed! Yes currently TTC since October, some months have been better at dtd than others! It’s nice to speak to someone who has been in this position 😊

My Oh had a reversal after 18 years, it didn't work but the surgeon couldn't understand why, so he performed a second operation free of charge and I fell pregnant within 4 months! We now have 3! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

@MmeCamenbert after 18 years?! That’s awesome! You must of had a very nice surgeon to do it again for free! It’s technically worked but that doesn’t guarantee your going to conceive unfortunately. 3?! I’d be happy with just the one 🤞

@RobinRose my Oh loves the fact that he's so fertile!! Yes our surgeon was lovely, I would recommend him without hesitation. Good luck
