Partial Mole pregnacey

Hi,
Just looking for some advice from any women who have had a partial mole pregnacey. I had a D&C on the 2 April after a MMC at 11.5 weeks . Yesterday the hospital called me and requested that I go in Monday as they sent then tissue off to be looked at and i have had a partial mole pregnacey.
I was not aware they were doing this even when I attended for a follow up three weeks later. I have had negative pregnacey tests and AF finally made an appearance Thursday after 7 weeks.
Has anyone been through this and coukd advise me what the next steps are? What I can expect from the hospital and how long they may say I have to wait to TTC again?
Thanks in advance.

Hi op,

I had a mmc at 12 weeks in 2017 and turned out to be a partial mole. I was the same as you was unaware they would be sending off after the D&C so same as you was really shocked when I received the phone call.

I had positive pregnancy tests for about 3-4 weeks I think after the D&C then went back to negative. I think I had to send bloods off to Charing Cross hospital (don't know where you're located) 3 months, and 6 months after the mmc to check HCG levels.

Obviously in regards to checking the HCG levels, if they've gone back to 0 then they don't have to do any further follow ups which is what happened to me.

The likelihood if you've got a negative test is that yours will go back to 0 too.

I was advised to not to TTC for at least 3 months or when I had a HCG level of 0. However I didn't ttc for a long time after as the mmc was an unplanned pregnancy.

I'm now 30+3 with a baby boy and all though having to inform midwife of previous molar, they have not done anything in regards to it as I made it past 12 weeks and showed no abnormalities on scan.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this as I know it's a horrible horrible experience. I wish you all the luck for the future 💐 xx

Thank you so much for that, they said on the phone that bloods and urine samples would be required and they would be sent to charing cross hospital. I hope on Monday when I go to my local hospital they will go through everything then. Like you say it's the sock! I had no idea, fingers crossed I will not need many follow ups. I am 33 and this was my first so keen to try again when safe and advice to do so
