Ladies who are OPK testing, when is the best time to test? I’m currently testing at 6.30pm every evening as read something about best times being between 12-8pm but wondered if FMU is best? It’s my first cycle using them so wasn’t sure!

Minster2012 · 27/05/2020 15:23

@Bear127 my own fault on the infection for not following good practices and weeing after sex! 🤦🏼‍♀️
@J0DI3 I would use the OPKs around lunchtime, then one later too until you have a high then do 3 times from lunch every 4 hours but I’m rubbish so others better to answer!

Minster2012 · 27/05/2020 15:23

@J0DI3 if they are the internet stick ones that is. The clear blue ones are meant to be FMU

J0DI3 · 27/05/2020 15:26

@minster2012 ahhhh they are CB ones! I best start doing morning tests then - oops 😬

Cocoblue22 · 27/05/2020 15:30

@Juno231 big hugs 🤗 it’s understandable you feel upset. Men can be so insensitive sometimes I guess he just doesn’t understand the effort you’re putting in. X

@SarahTTC2020 sounds like a typical man they get to their scary point where all their mates are settling down and think oh maybe i should too! Usually happens around the age of 30 from the men I know! X

@unluckyducky cervical erosion that’s what I meant earlier commenting on @lucyrps post from this morning but couldn’t remember the technical term. I used to get that a lot and it was scary bleeding after sex but apparently if it’s that it’s quite normal. Thankfully it stopped for me after I stopped the pill the first time (that can cause it apparently) x

SarahTTC2020 · 27/05/2020 15:37

@J0DI3 i was using IC so testing around 10/11am on my second wee. I'd be too diluted by late afternoon I think as I drink a lot of water

I was only doing 1 a day though @Minster2012 should I have been doing more? I was just using the instructions of my very cheap ones 🙈

TTCgee · 27/05/2020 15:39

@Juno231 everyone else has already said but sorry that you're going through that with him! I agree with those that have said men just don't always get it!

Mine defo feels the pressure too and sometimes ironically I think it makes him want sex less now I'm always asking for it 😂 whereas before we probs had sex the same if not more when it wasn't to do with babies! Urgh!

Mine is v supportive of me but he definitely is a lot more chilled out and keeps saying it doesn't matter if it takes a year as that's how long it takes most couples.

He kept saying at the start 'I thought trying for a baby would be less stressful' and saying things like he wishes I didn't have to do the OPKs or talk about all the CM etc all the time as it makes it seem mechanical rather than just normal but I basically found a few articles online and sent them to him to read in his own time all about the small window of pregnancy / what an LH surge is etc and it defo helped! He was basically clueless about how it worked and thought we could get pregnant any day so it didn't really matter about doing it at set times! Now he understands tho His mindset has completely shifted and he'll take a proper interest in what's going on / gets as excited as me about an LH surge now 😂😂

so might be worth trying that? Hope everyone's okay! I'm defo gonna be getting on the grapefruit next month! Hopefully I'll see my first ever EWCM! Xxx

KRK05 · 27/05/2020 15:46

@Juno231 Its good to vent away, especially to all of us who completely understand the things we have to do for TTC. I hope u get it sorted lovely 💕

Question, what's everyones CM like after ovulation? It's not something I've tracked cause that's just added stress for me I'm rubbish at trying to work out what is what! But the past 2 days I seem to have had more, sorry TMI (although I doubt it with u crazy bunch 😂) more wet. Its definitely not EWCM. I thought it was supposed to dry up 🤔 maybe I'm wrong though. I've only noticed it cause its unusual for me.

Vil10 · 27/05/2020 15:48

My OH is very laid back but supportive Of the the whole TTC journey however he cannot get his head around how many time’s I used opks in my high and peak days, he always said “why do you keep pissing in pots” because I used one tub then would clean it and put it beside the sink, so he was baffled and now whenever I make a comment about anything or anyone he goes “you piss in pots and leave them on the side you scruff” 😂 at least I know he’ll always try and make light of a shitty situation!

Vil10 · 27/05/2020 15:49

@KRK05 mine has been exactly the same! Felt like I’ve had a lot more of it than what I should do after ovulation

KRK05 · 27/05/2020 15:56

@Vil10 Very unusual but glad I'm not alone 🙌🏼 was beginning to think I've been so unlucky this cycle I've probably got some sort of infection now 😂

SmileyT · 27/05/2020 16:03

@notyetamumbuttrying will you tell your parents the day you test? That would be such a lovely birthday treat especially if you can't be with them 🥰🥰

Juno231 · 27/05/2020 16:08

@krk05 mine has been a bit different every time pretty much! last cycle it was relatively dry and the cycle before it was so wet and creamy i kept having to check if AF had come on! Was super annoying though cause I was convinced it was a sign of BFP...

lucyrp · 27/05/2020 16:10

@Cocoblue22 oh yeah okay ! My sex drive has actually gone to bed pretty much so it's clear ovulation has left the building 😂😂

@KRK05 mines been quite wet this time too!

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 27/05/2020 16:15

Blokes are weird. DH saw me buy baby clothes for my sisters baby and suddenly said "let's have another", hence me being on here 😂 I could gladly have gone another few years to be honest.

Hope you're OK @Juno231

Cocoblue22 · 27/05/2020 16:16

@Vil10 my husband said the other day...is this what life’s come to you leave pots of piss on the sink in the bathroom! (My CB monitor takes 5 mins to register and the other day I POAS and then it didn’t work faulty stick so I couldn’t do it again so now I keep my pot of pee for at least five mins. He just happened to go to the bathroom in those five mins haha! Pots of pee everywhere!!!! X

KRK05 · 27/05/2020 16:18

@Juno123 That's so good to know that it can just vary cause I've convinced myself I've got an infection of some sort 🙈 I've not googled about it cause when I was googling about my lh surge it came out I had PCOS (definitely dont) ovarian cycsts (I highly doubt cause my last vaginal ultrasound was April surely they wouldve noticed) so google is not my friend 🤷🏼‍♀️

@lucyrp So weird cause I've definitely never had that before. I've noted it though for next cycle. Taken a leaf out of @SmileyT book from back on the May bus to take notes on my apps to look back on 😝

Cocoblue22 · 27/05/2020 16:19

My husband is at it again today sanding the garage and painting it... I’m sure this is his version of giving me a lap dance!! 🤞🏻 For peak tomorrow!

I think my tummy ache could be due to a water infection perhaps although never had one before so not sure. I’ve drank a full carton of cranberry juice the last few days if it is to help. How long does it take to get better if it is that? Feel soooo bloated too x

Sorry totally random day in the life of here (especially for those of you who would love your first) ....one of my FUCKING DOGS (I know which 1 & no it’s not a habit they have FFS) has just eaten my toddlers shit log out of his potty whilst i was busy chasing toddler round other side of kitchen island to wipe his bum

ARGH & DH thinks his life is more stressful 😩💩🤯lockdown with a toddler & 2 dogs

Cocoblue22 · 27/05/2020 16:20

@KRK05 I googled my tummy pain and it said I had all those things too! X

Cocoblue22 · 27/05/2020 16:23

@unluckyducky totally agree! Although both me and my husband were both worried the first few times it happened to me but then it just became an annoying thing. Once in a hotel it was really bad on white sheets looked like I’d had my period. I found it so embarrassing I’m glad it stopped after a while. My husband also worried he was hurting me which he wasn’t it was just so bizarre x

Minster2012 · 27/05/2020 16:23

@cocoblue22 I often get mild cystitis & did over last week, drank cranberry juice & buckets of water & took paracetamol & it cleared in a day or so

@minster2012 I just burst out laughing reading that - that's so disgusting 🤢 😂

@KRK05 haha yes with Doctor Google all paths lead to brain tumours somehow!

@Cocoblue22 I used to have chronic utis and would never have described myself as having tummy pain? Frequent urination and a burning sensation when you pee are the primary symptoms xx
