Hi there, my tests are from 10 dpo - 14 dpo, they don’t appear to be getting darker. Could this be a chemical, or is it just too early?

I can’t see a pic - were they taken at the same time of day? Could your urine have been diluted?

Also test variations can affect the darkness too Flowers

RoosterPie · 21/05/2020 21:59

Ah can see the pic now. I’ve always found those tests useless and impossible to read so can’t help sorry!

Could you get a couple of FRERs and do them 48h apart?

Sammyclaire22 · 21/05/2020 22:01

It depends how sensitive your tests are, it's still early days. Have you tried an early response one? Mine were faint until 14dpo when it suddenly darkened but that all depends on when implantation occurred. See what happens over the next few days x

Lily2020 · 22/05/2020 08:27

@lunamoon84 i would get some first response tests if I were you, I'm an obsessive tester & didn't get reliable dark lines on the cheap sticks until a good week after AF was due! 🤞🏽

Moonbeam84 · 22/05/2020 09:30

Thank you RoosterPie Sammyclaire22 Lily2020 for your replies, unfortunately there’s no line on the cheap ones again today (well, the very faintest), so I think it’s a chemical. I’ll just wait until my period comes to see. I’ve got a Clearblue but don’t think there’s any point wasting it. Thanks again for your support. Added pics of different tests too, the last one is this morning FMU

The same happened to me and I was initially disheartened when I kept seeing one line. I then had a positive ovulation test at CD 19 and 20. Maybe you ovulate later on?

Sammyclaire22 · 22/05/2020 11:06

Im sorry to hear that, it sucks. I had similar a few months ago. Mine did get darker to start with but then disappeared overnight. I tried to see the positive in it though as being able to conceive is a big hurdle to cross even if it's not the outcome you hope x

Whatsmyname8 · 22/05/2020 11:09

I did this with the first few weeks of my pregnancy and freaked out that my lines weren’t doing the right thing. I was actually pregnant with twins and the pregnancy progressed perfectly. Try not to worry until you have something obvious to worry about.

Gimmecaffeine · 22/05/2020 11:12

Take one reliable test like a FRER or CB digital and if it's positive that's it, you are pregnant.

Pregnancy tests are not designed to show progressing HCG. Doing this causes needless anxiety which won't help your pregnancy.

Moonbeam84 · 22/05/2020 12:37

I think I’ll wait 2-3 days, if no sign of period then I will

Moonbeam84 · 22/05/2020 12:40

This is the 3rd time, definitely trying to see the positive, at least Dr will have to intervene now as 14 months of trying and age 36 too. I hope you had your positive

Moonbeam84 · 22/05/2020 12:40

Thank you, it’s lovely to hear positive happy endings

Moonbeam84 · 22/05/2020 19:43

15 dpo now. Not feeling hopeful. Just got a sad sinking feeling. Never testing early again
