I'm 31 TTC #1 after a MC in March this year, AF has just finished and I'm on CD6 and all ready to go for my 2nd full cycle.

This month I will be tracking with opks, CB connected, BBT and following SMEP plan.

Hi ladies do you mind if I join you? I'm 41 and thought I had finished having children, I've been with my OH for 8 years and we have kids from past relationships, my youngest is 13! We got pregnant (big surprise) last year and unfortunately had a missed miscarrige in november. We both wanted the baby and are now starting to try for one of our own, ive just started with CB ovulation test as couldnt figure the cheapy ones out 🤣 got a solid smiley on the 1st one so now I think in my 2ww. good luck to everyone 🤞

2020wish · 08/06/2020 13:59

@1990EM yes just got my peak!!

Anyone else having their peak today and due to ovulate tomorrow?

@Hayleylou89 aw lovely. So happy for you!

@Dizzy201 welcome! Sorry for you loss and here’s to your big BFP!

I’m armed with my aspirin and progesterone cream for this cycles in hopes that I get a sticky bean

elliew818 · 08/06/2020 14:03

@Chickoletta so when will you be testing?
So sorry for your losses @sunflower96 and @MissyBate @Dizzy201 and @Meomeomeo hope you're dealing with everything ok, can be difficult in lockdown without being able to 'get back to normal'...even though I'm not sure anyone ever does after a MC.
@Hayleylou89 so happy for you and your little bun :) glad it all went well
Feel like I need to have a little rant today! Saw my parents yesterday and told them about MC (they didn't know about pregnancy) and my dad actually said the words "well you're not the first and won't be the last" and my mum's pearls of wisdom included "oh well, onto the next, onwards and upwards"
I'm not annoyed at them because they were probably a bit shocked and didn't really know what to say but couldn't quite believe what I was hearing! Has anyone else had people say really insensitive things when telling them about MC?

elliew818 · 08/06/2020 14:04

Glad you got your peak @2020wish, we all know what you'll be up to later 😉 lol I'm currently stuck in TWW and already debating testing earlier than I planned 🤦‍♀️

VP91x · 08/06/2020 14:05

@Hayleylou89 aw that is so amazing!! Glad everything is going as it should be. Sending you a massive hug you must be so happy! ❤️

@Dizzy201 welcome to the group, sorry you suffered a loss. I hope you get lucky this month great that you got your solid smiley straight away!

@2020wish yay for peak!! Happy DTD 🍆💦
How do you use the progesterone cream? Xx

VP91x · 08/06/2020 14:14

@elliew818 oh, I would be devastated if my parents said that. Did they say anything else after? I actually never told my mum about what happened when I MC'd. I hadn't told them about the PG and I knew mum especially would be really sad. I'm really close to my mum so I feel guilty sometimes that she doesn't know. I don't think my two best friends really knew what to say, it was more of a generic Im sorry etc it will happen soon. I don't know what response I wanted but it certainly wasn't that.

I hope you are ok? Xx

2020wish · 08/06/2020 14:18

@elliew818 hahah got it out of the way first thing this morning lol it’s easier for us to DTD in the am while the kid is asleep lol @VP91x I was recommended on mumsnet somewhere about the cream from online and you just rub it in different areas like stomach and thighs. It’s called now progesterone cream. I figured it couldn’t hurt

Renna · 08/06/2020 14:25

Lovely scan hun @Hayleylou89 xxx so happy for you all is looking well xxx

Tink20058 · 08/06/2020 14:27

@Hayleylou89 so glad everything was ok 👍 it’s a bit pants that husbands/partners can’t go in for scans now when will your due date be? Or do you have to wait until 12 week scan to find out? Xx

1990EM · 08/06/2020 14:48

@Hayleylou89 aw what a beautiful sight 😍 must be a huge relief.

Hayleylou89 · 08/06/2020 14:49

Thanks Girls it means alot and hopefully more of u following in these footsteps veerrry soon. My current due date is 3/2/21 but may change at 12 wk dating scan x

Hope ur all doing well and either approaching or patiently waiting to test 🙏 @elliew818 when are u testing looks like its fast approaching for u? That was shocking what ur parents said 😔 but im sure they havnt meant it and just not known what to say to u! it such a touchy subject isnt it x x

1990EM · 08/06/2020 14:49

@2020wish excellent! Glad you got a solid peak and a good early dtd in today! How exciting!

1990EM · 08/06/2020 14:52

@sunflower96 extra hard when it's your first and you think you've got to the "safe" stage. Sending a hug.

1990EM · 08/06/2020 14:56

@elliew818 aw no, that must have hurt, though I'm sure they just didn't know what else to say.. I have to remind myself that those in an older generation didn't use to talk about this kind of thing. It wasn't until I had a MC that i found out my mum had lost a baby when she was my age too.
It really doesn't help us to open up and talk about our losses though when we have to brace ourselves for people saying well meaning but hurtful things 😔 hope you're ok.

Dipsy77 · 08/06/2020 15:26

@Jazper sorry AF got you, how long are your cycles we can be cycle buddies this time xx

WellHurrahAndHuzzah · 08/06/2020 15:45

Welcome to all newbies, I'm sorry for your losses.

@Jazper sorry AF came, but glad this means your cycles might be going back to normal? I'm due on Weds but have pretty irregular cycles so planning to only test if it hasn't arrived by the weekend. Naturally, I'm symptom spotting like crrrrrrrrazy Hmm

@Hayleylou89 what a great pic, congratulations!!

Wishingfornumber2 · 08/06/2020 16:14

@Hayleylou89 ahh great to see a scan photo and that things are ok.
@Jazper Sorry AF got you but fingers crossed CB digital behaves this month! I’m using it again this month and got my 1st flashing smiley yesterday. I think I’m due to ovulate this weekend so hoping for static at end of the week.
@VP91x that’s interesting, I never thought to use the same holder. But as you said at least it knows the baseline.

mrsssk · 08/06/2020 16:14

Hi ladies, hoping I can join this thread? I've been a weirdo lurking for the past week or so and just admiring the support everyone has been providing one another. It's honestly so heart warming.

Unfortunately I had a miscarriage with my 1st pregnancy in May. Started bleeding on 28th May at 6 weeks 5 days and the bleeding completely stopped a week later (4 June). My OH and I really want a baby and we were fortunate to get pregnant the first cycle of trying, now to pick ourselves up and start trying again. I feel mentally ready as well.

Is it advisable to wait for a normal period or has anyone just jumped straight back into it after a negative pregnancy test?
My cycles were pretty regular before pregnancy and I just want to get on with trying again.

HopeForRainbowbaby · 08/06/2020 16:40

@2020wish I'm about to ovulate :) I am waiting for peak today or tomorrow ☺️

@Hayleylou89 congratulations dear 😘 baby looks great !

HopeForRainbowbaby · 08/06/2020 16:43

@mrsssk I'm sorry that you found yourself here ! But indeed the support is great here in this difficult time. The midwife told me to try directly once bleeding stops both times( so nothing on negative pregnant tests). I had two natural MC and I'm not sure if it makes a difference if you need medical help with MC.

Baby dust to you 😘

Tink20058 · 08/06/2020 16:45

@mrsssk hi welcome 👋 I personally got straight back into it after miscarriage and started tracking ovulation a week after bleeding stopped luckily it worked first cycle for us and got bfp hopefully that brings hope for people that it can happen good luck xxx

Chickoletta · 08/06/2020 16:50

@elliew818 - AF is not due until 17th so I’m going to try to hang on until the weekend if I can. Feeling better today - slept well and not nearly so tired but I’ve felt nauseous on and off and still very damp downstairs! Trying not to get my hopes up too much.

peonyrose87 · 08/06/2020 17:01

@Hayleylou89 what a beautiful scan!! So happy for you

2020wish · 08/06/2020 17:13

@HopeForRainbowbaby can’t wait for testing day lol when are you going to test

mrsssk · 08/06/2020 17:17

@HopeForRainbowbaby that's good to know as my bleeding has stopped for a few days now. All my symptoms have gone too so I wasn't sure why we needed to hang around. The EPU doctor advised to do a pregnancy test on 23rd June to check it's negative, wait for a normal cycle (or two) and then start trying.
That seemed like such a long wait and I had a natural miscarriage so I'm not sure what the advice was based on.

I've got some One Step OPKS from amazon so will start tracking my ovulation from today in that case. Thank you for your advice, so helpful! X
