TTC after mini pill

Hello
After some advice from those with similar experiences. DD is 19 months and we are just starting to talk about DC 2. Ideal age gap for us would be 3 years so looking to get pregnant around Jan next year. When TTC DD I had come off of the depo and it took me 18 months to get pregnant. Is it likely to be the same from mini pill which I'm now on? Just want to plan in my head the best time to stop the pill. Thanks for any advice or experience anyone can offer.

I googled this recently as I'm on the mini pill and apparently you can ovulate as soon as 7 days after stopping the mini pill. So I think it would be quicker. You could always stop a couple of months in advance and use condoms to let your cycle regulate itself?

Yes that's useful. I wondered if it might be quicker... thanks

Yes, you "could" ovulate as quick as 7 days but that doesn't mean you could be pregnant that quickly, unless you're lucky of course.

Some people can get pregnant very quickly after coming off the mini pill, and others not so quickly (me, cycle 6, patiently waiting!).

I think you should come off mini pill sooner rather than later and use alternative birth control in the meantime until you are ready to ttc.

Oh, meant to say, the time it could take to conceive may not be related to coming off mini pill. It could be quick, or just take longer as with many couples and the mini pill history could be irrelevant.

Hi thanks. I think what makes it more confusing is that my cycle never really regulated after the depo so I was surprised to find out that I was pregnant. Might give it a few more months as really wouldn't be good timing for us if I accidentally got pregnant now Smile
