good morning everyone,

i had a miscarriage a month ago i was 6 weeks and a few days. i haven’t had a period since and my period was due monday 18th (i’m aware that it can take time for your period to regulate). a few days before my period was due i was getting mild cramping and i never get this before my period i had it before i found out i was pregnant the first time and i have taken tests they are all negative.. last night when i wiped i had some pink discharge and then this morning i have had some brown discharge in my underwear but still no period i am still getting some mild cramps now and again. myself and my partner have been trying again but i don’t believe i have fallen pregnant again so quickly, anybody any ideas what this could be? X

It sounds like it's your period trying to start.

I'm not quite sure on the timing in your case, but if you started bleeding from your miscarriage a month ago it may have taken some time for your HCG to return to zero. After my miscarriages I think I have tended to ovulate with HCG still in my system, but it hasn't been a very strong ovulation and then I've had a very short, light period soon after my HCG hit zero. I think it was because my uterine lining couldn't thicken properly before ovulation as I was still bleeding from the miscarriage, so there wasn't much blood when I got my period.

Your next cycle should be more normal.

my HCG levels hit zero after a week as i was getting blood tests and i’ve had negative tests after about 3 days when i stopped bleeding from the miscarriage but thank you for the information it is much appreciated X
