Brown discharge at 7DPO?

Hi everyone. We are TTC #2. My periods are generally around 28-30 days long - last one started properly on 27 April.
I had a positive OPK (I think?!) on CD15. We DTD CDs 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17, so really felt like I was in with a shot this month!
Yesterday when I woke I had very very mild crampy/period pains on and off most of the day (very mild though - doubt I’d even notice them if I wasn’t obsessively thinking about it ) and in the early afternoon after going for a wee, I wiped and there was some pinky brown discharge (sorry if TMI). Nothing for the rest of the day and then a little more this morning. I also had a twingy pain on my left side.
At first I thought perhaps to do with implantation but I also had a bad headache yesterday, which I tend to get around AF. Still slightly crampy this morning.

I think most likely it’s AF coming on but why so early? Just my body messing with my mind and proving once again that we have no control over TTC? And what does that mean for the positive OPK? Is it possible I ovulated but just practically immediately went into AF?

I know OPKs aren’t foolproof - I might start temping next cycle. Which looks to be starting sooner than I’d like

Good morning!
In my last pregnancy I had terrible stomach cramps along with a tiny bit of brown spotting/discharge. This was about two weeks after my app said I was ovulating so I was convinced I was out that month (it was the first month we were trying after all). I took numerous pregnancy tests that week and they all came back negative.
Thankfully I wrote all of these notes down in my app because I knew I would want to look up everything when the time came to TTC number two (which is next month and I'm super excited!)
Anyway, long story short - I was pregnant! So it must have been implantation. Some of the other symptoms I had at the same time were awful bloating, constipation, headaches, fatigue, acne and nausea.
Finally got BFP on day 36 of my cycle so I think I caught much later than I anticipated! Good job I didn't stop trying hey!
Good luck OP, keep me updated! I both can't wait to go crazy symptom spotting and am terrified of driving myself crazy if it doesn't happen as quickly again this time! X

@yellowbelliedcreature no I never had it in two pregnancies. I had terrible cramping though.

Thank you so much @eilvyre for responding! That makes me feel a bit better. Tested this morning (9dpo is the latest I could be ) and obviously BFN. Still got cramping and random pale pinky browny CM on occasion when I wipe but nothing more. I forgot how bloody stressful TTC is! Good luck with #2

Thanks again for responding @NoCallerID. I had cramps when I was pregnant with DD1 up to 14 weeks but don’t remember what it was like this early!

Well, I had exactly this and it was an implantation bleed for sure.

I know this as DD is 12!

I do! As I was so worried and anxious to be pregnant.

It went on for a whole wretched week! Not much blood though, Brown blood and terrible cramps on one day.

Thank you @BillieEilish. Really appreciate it. This process is so poorly designed! Why are AF and early pregnancy symptoms so similar?! I’m losing my mind and it’s only cycle 5!

Just wanted to update for anyone who finds this thread in the future - got a BFN this morning very light brown spotting and mild cramping has been going on for a week now. Sore boobs but no spots like I’d normally get before AF (due tomorrow). Just a weird cycle I guess. Very frustrating.
