I'm currently ttc after a miscarriage late last month I've just received more ovulation test strips and did one today and noticed the test line is darker than the control line (if I've got the lines the right way round) I'm certain I ovulated last week according to app tracker and cm what does this mean exactly?
I'm no good with test strips never really used them the first time around, will attach a photo.
Could this be the hormones from my miscarriage making the line darker?

If anyone has any advice about ttc after a miscarriage or experience I'd love the hear them

That's a negative. The test line is the one closest to the end that goes in your pee.

@GeeHO98 Sorry to hear about your MC ❤ That's the control line I'm afraid lovely so the test line is negative as its very faint. It's my first month using them too, so I know how confusing it can be 🙈 sending u lots of baby dust for this cycle X

Thank you I wasn't sure I've done the odd one before but never had lines like that

The good news is that the HCG is likely all gone from your system. If you still had HCG in your urine then your OPKs would be positive even if you are not ovulating.

What made you decide to test today?

KRK05 · 19/05/2020 13:18

@GeeHO98 From what I gather there will always be a 2nd line (the test line) anyway it's all about how dark it is. If u download Premom & Femometer apps u can take pictures of your tests & they will tell u if there low, high or peak

@peperethecat I just received some new ones today that's all. Still feeling quite off I think my body is going back to pre-pregnancy still so just thought to test see how faint/dark the lines are incase there was any lingering higher levels if you know what I mean

@KRK05 thank you I've just downloaded them I'll give them a trySmile

There's always some LH in your system, so it looks like your hormone levels are probably back to normal now. I've always had positive OPKs for quite a long time after my miscarriages.

You are reading it the wrong way...! I think you were on the Christmas babies thread with me (if I remember correctly?), I miscarried about the same time at 6 weeks. I’ve also tried using the same brand ovulation tests for the first time this month without much luck to be honest. I think they might have arrived after i ovulated (they arrived late, day 11 which is normal ovulation day for me) but I stuck at it thinking I’d maybe ovulate late after still having a very positive pregnancy test cycle day 9. I’m finding it annoying to be honest, we’ve gone straight back to trying but it’s hard work when you’ve no idea if or when you ovulate!

GeeHO98 · 20/05/2020 02:39

@DontStandSoClose that's me, I wasn't sure which line was which, on the few I've done in the past both lines have always been the same shade in darkness so never had to distinguish till now.

Yes I'm certain we miscarried the same week😔
I get what you mean I should have already ovulated too last week I think but I wasn't using ovulation tests when I got pregnant last cycle so not sure what days I was ovulating then it's so hard most people make getting pregnant sound easy seems like when you actually plan and want it to happen it takes forever

I thought it was you... Don’t be disheartened by the ovulation tests, I’ve not paid that much attention to them to be honest, I did them more if I did get pregnant I’d have an idea when, we just had sex every other day (which is hard work!). I think I’m bordering on obsessive which is so not me!! I’ve been so so lucky up to now to just decide to try and then bam, it obviously doesn’t work like that for the majority but my previous experience has almost been too easy. I’ve never tracked etc, I get ovulation pains, which I did have on day 10 but I convinced myself it’d be late this month, maybe not. I have broken my own rule this month too and tested before my expected period, faint line on the test... period not due (if it was normal) until Sunday. Going to sit on my hands until Saturday and retest then (we do a boozy pub quiz with friends on a sat).

I’m so frustrated and it’s been less than 2 months since we decided to go for it, I’ve no idea how anyone does this for months or years even!

I hope you get lucky this month, got my fingers crossed for you too :)
