Anybody had very faint BFP, then days of heavy bleeding followed by a strong BFP??

Hi All,

So I'm on a bit of a rollercoaster these last couple of weeks. I've had chemicals and a MC in March/early April so was only guessing my AF says and we weren't TTC as we were grieving.

That said a few weeks ago I started getting pretty strong symptoms and a week and a half later got very faint positives but so faint the camera wouldn't pick them up.

Then 4 days ago I started bleeding and sorry TMI but had clots and what seemed like a bit of tissue and so I thought that was that.

I've still had some symptoms though not nearly as nauseated and my boobs are still big and veiny but not really that tender anymore, though still got the tummy twinges.
Today though I took a test and it's BFP that's the strongest it's been the last few weeks...??? I've never had this before, it's usually BFN by now.

I've got a doctor's call tomorrow but anybody had this happen before?

Has anyone conceived twins and only miscarried one if twins aren't in your family history? Or am I getting my hopes up when it's probably an ectopic?

I had this and it was a miscarriage or possibly an ectopic which resolved naturally. Is there any way you can get HCG blood tests done 48 hours apart to see whether your HCG is rising or falling? It'll be the least invasive way to try and diagnose what is going on, and if your HCG is above 1500 or so then the pregnancy should be visible on an ultrasound.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking it is for me too but then read a thread where it was a miscarried fraternal twin... But that's just me trying to keep an ounce of hope. I think it's probably more likely to be an EP though. Hopefully the doc will give me tests tomo

Stand your ground and don't let the doctor fob you off. If it is ectopic you need to know ASAP so you don't end up with a ruptured tube. I hope it's not that. Sorry you're going through this, I know how stressful it is. It's probably safer to assume it's an ectopic or a miscarriage and then if you have a scan and it turns out everything is OK in there it'll be a lovely surprise.

Well this is the 4th time in 6 months that I've POAS and gotten BFP so I already wanted to get answers and now I'm just more confused than ever!

What did your doctor say?

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/05/2020 18:29

I've had two ruptured ectopics and didn't have bleeding with either but both of mine had heartbeats

The chances are it's not ectopic but there is not real way of knowing without a scan or a blood test and scan to see if they match up x

Have to wait for another week to test again. There is a slim chance that I'm pregnant but she said it's more likely that I miscarried but the hcg hormone didn't peak until after bleeding so it's a waiting game now. I'm being referred to the EPAU but most likely to be for recurrent miscarriage than a pregnancy unfortunately

Hopefully it won't be that, but at least if it is you'll have hit the magic number for recurrent miscarriage testing sooner rather than later.

MrsSharpie · 18/05/2020 18:45

I feel a bit in limbo because I don't want to get my hopes up but there's still a real slight chance so it's difficult not too!

That's normal. I feel that way every single time.

MrsSharpie · 18/05/2020 23:18

I hope you get some positive news soon x

Thank you. After four losses I'm not sure at what point I could consider something positive news now. I'd love to be pregnant and believe that it was actually going to work out this time.

I'm
Going through the exact same thing atm and don't know what to do
