Negative test but a week late

Hi there, first post on here!

We've been trying to conceive for about 2 months now and last cycle my period came on time (as usual), but this cycle I'm a week late. I've taken two tests, the most recent only 3/4 days ago, but both were sadly negative. Is there anyone out there who had a negative test/s but it turned out they were actually pregnant?

I know the likelihood is that I'm not pregnant but I've never been late in my life, never mind a a whole week late! Any insight is helpful, thanks in advance! Xx

Did you use first morning urine? Try testing again now that it's been a few days!

The first negative was 1 day late in the morning but the 2nd was at like 6pm... would this really make a difference? 🤔

I want to do another but I'm worried I'm just driving myself mad after 2 negatives! Also DH says I'm literally throwing money down the toilet 😂 so I promised him I'd wait another week!

Women can produce hormones at a different rate! I did an afternoon test with my first when my period was due and nothing. Only found out I was 7 weeks, feeling sick and at the doctors!
Just get a cheapie for Asda or similar, only £1 or so each.

Ahh i know how you feel! I am currently 6 days late! Tested Wednesday morning and this morning.. both BFN's. So frustrating, just wish AF would turn up if we aren't saves us getting our hopes up. Very strange tho! xx

Took 3 weeks for my positive to come up!! Currently 39 weeks so was definitely pregnant

I took another test yesterday morning (9 days late) but negative again 😞 I think I'm defo not pregnant now but just have a crazy late period. Still no sign of it today, now 10 days late. I just want it to come now so I can start looking ahead!

I'm now on day 43... I'm going to test one more time tmw morning and if it's another BFN then it's clearly just a missed period 😞 it's annoying because I'll have no idea when I'll be ovulating now 🤷🏼‍♀️

Took another test this morning - 44/5 day cycle - negative! Will just chalk this up to a missed period!

Incase anyone is reading this look for hope - my period never came and I'm now pregnant! Just did a test today because I couldn't believe it was over 2 months late. Finally BFP!!!

Wow that’s amazing! Reading you had negatives for so long.
Did it make a difference the time of day you were taking them?

I took a test last night (top one) BFN.
Then I took one this morning (middle) with first pee, looks like a BFP.
Then I took one later morning on a clear blue and BFN.
Am I going mad or am I just testing wrong?

AF was due on the 6th.

@Mumof2girls92 middle definitely looks positive!
Maybe it's just the smu affecting the test, and also CB might not be as sensitive.

@selina37 I took a digital test this morning and it was negative. I don’t know how accurate they are or anything as I’ve never taken one before, I found out at 6weeks & 13weeks with my other two children so they were pretty clear positives. So I’ve not experienced the whole “positive the negative” scenarios.

Any idea how sensitive or accurate a clear blue digital is?

Congratulations OP! I was a week late last week for the first time ever. Unfortunately my period eventually made an appearance (TTC 18 months), but this has made me smile.

Wow you found out late previously! Maybe this will be the case again?

This morning I've woken up to red spotting (cramping yesterday and day before) so I feel like I'm out. That said, with my DS I had 4/5 days of red bleeding from a similar point, but back then I 'just knew' I was pregnant (I don't know how) and I was. This time I just feel 'out', but maybe because I've been trying so long.

@SWAttempting wow yeah so it did take you a while to get a digital positive. I’m just thinking maybe I’m testing early as the other tests I done during the day not with FMU have been negative. It’s just that one with FMU that showed a positive.
I keep getting little nippy cramps etc now and then but I don’t know if maybe AF is going to show.

@selina37It sends you loopy doesn’t it? Can’t think about anything else all day! I feel like I wouldn’t have bothered testing right now if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve went off a lot of foods and husband is starting to get suspicious, I don’t want to say anything to him until I know for sure though.

@Mumof2girls92 absolutely sends me loopy! And at a tome of PMS moods too, it's sometimes just horrid.

This sounds promising for you though! You've had that positive test AND you're off food! 🤗

Congratulations to everyone else on the thread with BFP! Someone asked when I took the positive test - it was actually about 8pm at night! But I am 8 weeks now if we're going by my last period.

I’ve had negatives ever since my “positive”. So I’m guessing it’s wrong or it’s a chemical. I’m expecting AF any day really as I’ve had cramping etc.

I hope there’s positive outcomes for those of you with current negatives soon!
