Irregular periods

Can any other woman relate? I’ve had my period since year seven I had normal periods every 28 days for around a year then they became irregular after a year and my periods vary from 5-8 months apart. The doctor has always told me it will go away when ‘I’m older’ for years and they don’t take me seriously because I’m not trying for a baby yet. I’m in my late teens now and still irregular even though I’m not ready to have children but I’m scared I’m not going to be able to conceive.

@Jadie178 how old are you? I can't remember how my cycles were when I started having periods as I went on the pill at 14 and can't remember what they were like lol. I've been off the pill 2 years and am currently having a pretty normal cycle - first in over a year. Have the doctors done any tests at all?

Are you on any form of contraception?

I’m 19, and no I’ve been going for years and they told me not to worry because I don’t want children yet I feel like they aren’t listening to me because I’m young.
