I got this today after less than ten minutes but just read about false positives on a tescos - can they be this thick and blue?

That could be an evaporation line or a very early positive. When’s your period due?

NQT2020 · 11/05/2020 19:49

They can be that thick and blue- I had an evap with a Tesco test after the time you’re meant to read it within.
But it also could be positive! How late are you?

RosiePosie2020 · 11/05/2020 20:13

My period was due yesterday but I think i ovulated later this cycle for some reason (I get bad ovulation pains so know within a day what’s going on) and that was May 1/2nd so would be early if so

These Tesco tests are a right pain! I'm sitting here wondering if I got a possible early positive too.
However, if this test was read/photographed within the reading window it does look like a faint positive to me.

I’ll keep you all updated - fingers crossed we get what we want x

I got my positive on a Tesco cheaply. It was on the day my AF was due and there was no mistaking the line.

Tesco cheapy*

Just did a clear blue ultra early and another Tesco with fmu and both faint positive

The clear blue has faded a bit since i did the rest this morning. All lines visible with naked eye within a few minutes - I only took them out the plastic after recycling later

They are very clear lines but if Tesco tests are well known for evaps, it would probably be worth picking up a red dye test so you can know for sure.

Good luck!

Expat30 · 12/05/2020 17:38

Yeah I wouldn't trust blue dye tests. Do a frer

RosiePosie2020 · 05/06/2020 10:43

Update - these were both false positives, confirmed when I took another two Tesco tests that still came up blue when I defo was NOT. I’d get better chances of an honest answer consulting a Ouija board than consulting Tesco and Clear Blue - disgusted

Gosh. That's so rubbish and disappointing.

sarahc336 · 06/06/2020 14:11

I've had very blue but think lines in Tesco tests and then came on af that night in the past so I wouldn't trust them now either, sorry to hear they weren't positive for you xx
