Hi guys,

This is my first post on mumsnet. I have recently stopped taking the pill (microgynon) on 22/04/20 and i had my withdrawal bleed from 24/04 to the 27/04. I am now waiting for my 1st period which is due in just over a week. My and my OH have decided the time is right and want to TTC just wondering if there is anyone else in the same boat on here 🙂

@Butterfly2105 I came off cerazette in December and got my withdrawal bleed 30 days later, my first period arrived 32 days after that. I had never had a period for over 10 years before that. Good luck to all of you ladies. x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/05/2020 16:56

Hello @Gizzy23 and all! I'm in the same position, just off the pill. Now CD 55 with no period Hmm. Have ordered ovulation tests which I will use regularly when they arrive just to see what the heck is going on! Like several of the others, I am also on "Mumsnet TTC (trying to conceive) Cycle 1 Club" thread Smile

MintGreenLife · 12/05/2020 17:05

@Butterfly2105 - sounds like we are in the exact same situation! Our wedding is planned for September, but we've decided to start TTC as we're really uncertain as to whether it's going to go ahead at the moment. We've waited two months to see if there would be any indication when weddings might go ahead again, and so like you have finally decided that we can't put our lives on hold and so now if it does go ahead and I'm pregnant then that's that!

Squidge12 · 12/05/2020 18:04

@LittleRa aww it’s nice to know someone with similar dates! Hopefully we get AF soon or actually get pregnant!! Are you TTC or waiting for first AF?
My OPKs are saying low at the moment, wish there was some sort of sign!

Gizzy23 · 12/05/2020 18:34

@TheDaydreamBelievers Wow your having a really long cycle. When did you come off the pill? Did you have a withdrawal bleed or just nothing?

@Squidge12 I am just in front of you stopped the pill on the 22/04. Wishing for next week to hurry up thats when AF is due.
Have you had any symptoms from coming off the pill?

Hi! Wanted to add as I'm in a similar situation, and no one to talk to even though I'm so excited.

Took my last pill (Yasmin) on 3rd May. Finishing my withdrawal bleed today. Have been on the pill about 4 years since DD was born. Was on it about 13 years previous to that!

Last time I came off the pill I was pregnant 3 months later- very difficult not to try and compare this time round!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/05/2020 18:45

@ Gizzy23 - Stopped pill (Rigevidon) on 15th March. Withdrawal bleed 19th / 20th March then nothing. Stopped using condoms start of May (didn't want to get pregnant before May cause of other life plans). Took a pregnancy test on approx 4th May just in case condoms had failed but not pregnant. So period AWOL but TTC. Dont yet know if ovulating at all as tests for that havent arrived!

My plan from here is 1) have a bunch of sex 2) once ovulation tests arrive, test a lot at the start 3) keep using Natural Cycles app for temperature etc 4) get myself to GP if period doesn't arrive in another month or so 5) take a pregnancy test every so often to check

Squidge12 · 12/05/2020 19:15

@Gizzy23 aww very similar time too Smile. The first week I noticed cramping but very minimal, haven’t had much since. I feel like I’ve got more energy but not sure if that’s because I’ve started taking some vitamins. Have you had any symptoms?

@overthinking88 hopefully it’s as quick as that this time round!

KatieG200394 · 12/05/2020 19:18

@MintGreenLife I'm in a similar position to you too, our wedding is also booked for September and we were going to wait to start ttc after that but as things are unclear about what's happening about weddings right now, we too just thought we'll start ttc now and if I end up pregnant by the time the wedding comes round then that's fine 😁 xx

MintGreenLife · 12/05/2020 21:17

@KatieG200394 ah that's so funny that you've come to the exact same decision as us, and that your wedding is booked for the same time. How have you been feeling about it all? I've not really been able to plan anything or even really think about the wedding since this all kicked off as it just makes me feel too blue 😔 I'm finding a lot of friends/family seem to be feeling positive that everything will be fine to go ahead by September, whereas I think it's easier to be realistic and accept that it's not likely to be possible, or if it is would require some pretty major changes to plans to be able to maintain social distancing etc. All very strange. Think we are making the best out of our situations by cracking on with TTC :) xx

KatieG200394 · 12/05/2020 22:27

@MintGreenLife tbh, at first I was pretty disheartened and still am a little bit, I'm more worried about whether or not the suppliers will all be free on the same day if we do have to rearrange but I agree, even if ours can go ahead there is no way we can safely social distance 100 people so I've decided to try and stay positive, what will be will be, trying not to stress over it now, I've come to terms with the fact its more than likely going to be postponed 😫 but that's okay, how about you? And exactly, why not make the best we can out of our situations by ttc now instead of later, its something else exciting to stay positive for and to look forward to, its definitely made me a lot happier to start ttc as it takes my mind off the pressure of family/friends asking about what's happening with the wedding when in reality I know as little as they do about it, good luck with your ttc journey Smile xx

L4yl4 · 13/05/2020 10:27

Hey all, new here Blush - I have also recently come off Cerelle (4 weeks ago exactly). No period, no withdrawal bleed, no spotting NOTHING! I think I’ve had signs of ovulation (tmi) ie EWCM but not certain. Tried using OPK’s - all of which have been negative (albeit that some have been darker than others, but not dark enough to be a positive). Please send me some patience because honestly I’m not the most patient person in the world Grin

Luxc90 · 13/05/2020 10:35

@MintGreenLife @KatieG200394 sorry to hear about your weddings, I can only imagine the worry of having to rearrange everything again, I'm still on a few wedding groups on Facebook and some poor brides can't get their venues for the new dates 😔. Wishing everyone the best of luck with their ttc journey! X

Gizzy23 · 13/05/2020 13:23

@Squidge12 I've had some horrible symptoms since stopping really bad headaches, bloating, nausea, sore nipples and backache its been a nightmare. I am taking pregnacare conception as well not sure if its helping or not.

@L4yl4 Hi welcome 🙂 have you worked out when AF should be due?
I thought i was getting some EWCM and had cramps so not sure if that was ovulation or not. I am waiting for my AF to show up now to start again for next month. Just so annoying not knowing what is going on

OP posts:
L4yl4 · 13/05/2020 13:41

@Gizzy23 Hi! Absolutely no idea when AF is due. Been off Cerelle 4 weeks exactly today, didn't have periods whilst on it so no idea where I would be in my cycle. I wondered if EWCM was just withdrawal from coming off the pill, or a sign that AF is coming. I've heard so many conflicting stories! Similar to you, also had cramping (though really light, barely painful) and some twinges so don't know if that was ovulation pains at the same time as EWCM! Though I've had what I think is a EWCM on and off since 27th April! 😖 no idea what my body is doing. The OPK's I've done haven't been dark enough to be positive either 🤷🏽‍♀️

Rainbow1808 · 13/05/2020 13:54

Hi thought I’d join inSmile TTC DC2 and came off the pill on the 28th of April. So far, no withdraw bleed but a lot of ewcm. Presumed this was ovulation so just went with it and DTD a lotGrin Currently having thick CM (sorry tmi) on and off so no idea what’s going on. No symptoms really, apart from the ones I make up in my head and think I’ve gotGrin Conceived DC1 within literally 5 of stopping! That was the combined pill though, I’ve just come off the mini pill (cerazette) so don’t know if it makes a differenceEnvy Good luck to you all! Xx

Gizzy23 · 13/05/2020 13:55

@L4yl4 Oh ok, i have only been off the pill just over 3 weeks and i had a period every 4th week when I was on the pill just waiting for my 1st real one off the pill. I read that you get the EWCM just days before ovulation as its your body's way of getting the sperm to the egg easier. I got some about 2 weeks after coming off the pill along with stomach cramps/twinges that lasted a few days. Im hoping my body is jump starting back into everything. Hopefully your period will show up soon, are you actively ttc now or waiting for the first period?

OP posts:
Rainbow1808 · 13/05/2020 13:55

Sorry that was meant to say conceived DC1 within 5 days of stopping the pill

L4yl4 · 13/05/2020 14:06

@Gizzy23 - were you on the combined pill? I'm not sure how much it differs from being on the combined one compared to POP (Cerelle for me), I think the idea is that potentially we are fertile as soon as we stop taking it so really just waiting for AF to arrive so then I can track cycles. Actively TTC now despite not having had AF or withdrawal bleed. (Sorry tmi) We've been DTD each time I've had EWCM, though I doubt I'd be lucky enough to have caught so early as I've only been off the pill for 4 weeks! Fingers crossed for both of us that AF shows up soon!

@Rainbow1808 Hii, how are you getting on being off Cerazette? I too was on Cerazette many years ago before they switched it over to Cerelle although I'm pretty sure it's the same thing! No worries about tmi here, I think we'll all be discussing CM, AF, DTD 😂

X

Rainbow1808 · 13/05/2020 14:12

@L4yl4 Hi! I’ve not found it too bad! A lot of painful cramps at the very start that made me feel like I was going to have the worlds biggest period but they have calmed down now! I’m going to be so impatient whilst ttcGrin With DC1 I got pregnant straight away after stopping the pill so I’m not used to all this waiting around and symptom spottingGrin x

L4yl4 · 13/05/2020 14:22

@Rainbow1808 - I was wondering if AF would come back with vengeance 😂 but luckily so far no super painful cramps. Hopefully it's not too long for all of us ttc, fingers crossed for all of us! I'll definitely keep everyone updated 🙂 I've been driving myself mad with symptom spotting 😓

Anyone else suddenly (since being off the pill) got super visible veins on their boobs (sorry tmi) even through their nipples? As well as over my Chest, neck, lower abdomen. Is this a sign of AF? Or did I just not notice them before 😂

Gizzy23 · 13/05/2020 15:00

@Rainbow1808 Hi, hope your good. Wow you conceived super quickly coming off the combined pill. That's what i have been on for about 12 years i have read alot of people either conceive really quickly or it takes a few months

@L4yl4 yea i was on the combined pill, i think they say that if you miss 2 or more pills then you can be fertile. Some women have conceived straight after like rainbow and others have been a few months. I have been ttc as well just to see what happens just been doing the deed every other day mostly just in case. Lol

Hi all
Still new to posting on here. I came off the pill (Brevinor) in January. Had withdrawal bleed then first period 19th March then next on 30th April. Still trying to work out best times to try. Not using tests but tracking using female health tracker on FitBit. Saying my fertile window is in 3 days. DH and I TTC DC1.

Rainbow1808 · 13/05/2020 15:20

@Gizzy23 Hi I’m good thanks! Yourself? I know I was super lucky! Hoping for it to be the same this time around but don’t think I’ll get that lucky again! Only been off this pill for just over 2 weeks though so who knows!

MintGreenLife · 13/05/2020 16:02

@Luxc90 thanks so much, it's a shame but hopefully things will work out one way or another, just not in the order we planned but that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things :)
