Trying for a baby in the middle of a pandemic

I couldn't find a thread on this, which surprised me.

Is anyone else really wanting to start trying for a baby now but feeling a bit awkward about it? It's like I'm worried HCPs will secretly judge me for putting a burden on the NHS, and that other people will think it's crazy to have become pregnant at this time. I'm almost thinking I should pretend it was unplanned if I do get pregnant, but it totally wouldn't be. Anyway, just wondering if anyone had similar concerns.

@mimiarm I'm genuinely curious! Surely it's safer to hang on a bit?

@Bumble84 absolutely good to hear why! It's interesting as when the fertility clinics reopened some friends and I had a discussion on why this was a priority to other clinics that aren't seeing anyone.

Just to say that actually some medical staff will say dickhead things about it...

I went to my 12wk scan a few weeks back, we talked at the start about how this was my lottery win, absolute miracle IVF success and that I would probably have missed my chance if we had not been lucky that cycle...

At the end of the scan she did a bit of a whistle through her teeth and said “well you picked a really bad time to get pregnant didn’t you!?” Hmm

In the words of Tommy Shelby, we've had enough death. Let's have some life.
