Hi all i am new here. I really need help. So this is my 6th cycle TTC baby no2 and i have decided to buy some ovulation tests. I have bought the cheap strips off amazon and also the clearblue digital ovulation test (not the advanced one) it says on the instructions not to pee for 4 hours before the test but i pee like every half hour i have tried cutting down my liquids but i still pee alot....does it matter if i pee all the time or is this going to effect my results? Also i read online not to use first morning pee so have been doing the test in the afternoon. Any tips on how to hold my pee in for 4 hours as this seems impossible to me? I have a 32 day cycle and have been testing since CD 10 using the cheap strips and then since CD 15 using clearblue and strips but im worried i will miss it due to the fact that i pee alot even though iv drastically cut down on my liquids... (currently on CD 18)

Hiya - I'm definitely not an expert as only used them myself for the first time this month too, but my pack said you should only use the first pee of the day as it's the strongest. Where did you read where it said not to use the first?

I read it online and heard in youtube videos that i shouldnt use first morning pee...did u get a positive yet? Do you think i should start using it in the morning?

@Mhairi333 also not an expert, but I found the CB Digital 4 Day OPK the best. I can't be dealing with line colours...

For me, I start testing once a day using FMU around day CD9, then as soon as I get the flashing smiley, I start testing 2-3 times a day. I've never really kept track of the 4-hour urine thing personally, and still find I get the flashing smileys. Do try not to drink more though, you'll only dilute your pee.

Usually around CD14/15 I get the static smiley only 3rd or 4th pee of the day and stop testing.

First month using the 2day OPK, I missed the window I think as I never saw the static smiley. First month using the 4day OPK I got pregnant (it ended in MC, but that's a different thread).

@Mhairi333 thanks, we're doing ok. It was early at 6 weeks, but we'd kind of already mapped out the whole 9-months. We're currently TTC again, waiting for ovulation to happen so we can start DTD and fingers crossed for another catch.

I know every woman is different, but I find the 4-day OPKs the least stressful. I just keep them by the loo and remind myself to pee on one a couple times a day - trying to do morning, afternoon, and night. Whatever makes this process easier and less regimented, right?

I wish yous all the luck and baby dust in the world i hope this will be your time Flowers yeah im the same as you testing 3 times a day twice with the cheap strips and once with clearblue lol heres hoping we both get our BFPs at the end of the cycle :)
