Coming off pill - experiences

Hello!

I've been on the POP (Desogestrel) since having my son almost 3 years ago.

We are thinking of TTC again soon, but wondered people's experiences of coming off this type of pill and TTC.

My periods before my first son were quite irregular and heavy. I believe I had mild endo but was never diagnosed.

My GP said pregnancy could occur quickly when coming off the POP.

Any experiences or advice would be great!

Hi I came off this pill when I was ttc DC1. No side effects when stopping, conceived about 5 days after! Good luck! Xx

I'm nervous about periods starting up again, but thinking to stop the pill tomorrow.

I was using it for about 6 months, came off it end of January and conceived end of March.

I came off the pill in February 2018 after 10 years and conceived my son in april 2018 i was worried it would take ages and it was about 6 weeks!

Oh wow these are all very quick timescales which is nice to know!

I came off the pill rigevidon start of December and only got my first natural period 20th March. Still trying although periods aren't fully back to normal and currently two weeks late, for me it's taken a bit longer. I personally won't be going back on hormonal contraception until I'm done having kids x

It's a tough one isn't it. We don't want to come off too late in case it takes a while but also know we could fall quickly after this pill!

I’m currently not trying for a baby, but came off for other reasons, and my period came the next month and so on. Have been regular ever since (but suffer worse than I did before going on it 7 years ago)

Hi, came off the pill in October 19, periods returned straight away and now have average 26-29 day cycles, we started ttc in January & now on 5th cycle with no luck as yet, fingers crossed for this month. Good luck

Thanks all... I stopped my pill yesterday so we will see what happens naturally x

I came off desogestrel, last pill on 27th March, withdrawal bleed on 17th April and af just arrived yesterday so a 24 day cycle, ttc so hoping this is our month once af leaves. 24 days is a really short cycle for me though, before going on that pill (6 years ago) my cycle was 30 days...hoping it’s not still regulating 🤦🏼‍♀️
