DH not DD

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 09:34

@Newbie0818 From what I could see it recommended not going above the daily recommended dose of vitamin c which is around 40mg. Some pregnancy supplements include it so I assume those would be fine. Be careful with usual multivitamins though as they often include vitamin A which can be harmful in high doses during pregnancy/TTC.

Mrsirvine · 05/05/2020 09:38

@Positivetime be kind to yourself, this ttc journey is a complete rollercoaster. I hope you’re wrong and af doesn’t show for 9 months. Fingers crossed for you. Maybe you’re better at work, day will pass quickerZ have a cry and some chocolate xxx

Newbie0818 · 05/05/2020 09:41

@Positivetime so sorry you’re feeling like that :( it really is hard. Hugs x

@Mrsirvine @Ltay2 I’d never even considered that! Mine are jus Wilko’s own and I’ve just looked and they say not suitable! 😰😰😰 god I’m so bloody stupid! I’ll definitely look into some proper pregnancy supplements.

Can anyone recommend any ttc supplements that aren’t overly pricey? Links would be helpful x

MrsEmilyB · 05/05/2020 09:42

@Polly2020 - sorry I can't see your pic 😔

@SmileyT - thank you. That makes me feel better. Fingers crossed for today!

@Mrsirvine - I so hope so!!

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 09:47

@Newbie0818 Definitely take Folic Acid if you aren't already. I randomly came across a post Luisa Zissman had done on Instagram regarding her own TTC journey and that a lot of her followers had messaged her to say they'd had success with what she recommended (based on her doctors advice) so I did a bit of my own research into those products and ended up ordering the VitalDHA and Folic Acid that she had used. I have just ordered the COQ10 to try this next cycle too as that was the most expensive so wanted to see what happened without it first.

MrsEmilyB · 05/05/2020 09:51

@Newbie0818 you're not stupid!! This whole thing is a milefield. We are using the Holland and Barratt his & her conception support but you can buy just the female ones if you want. I think they're in the buy 1 get 1 for a penny currently!!

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 09:55

This was the article I mentioned if anyone is interested. Obviously she isn't a doctor or anything but says it was based on her own medical advice and seems to have benefitted some people who have tried.

RobinRose · 05/05/2020 09:56

@Positivetime don’t be so hard on yourself, have a cry! I find having a nice hot bath and a pamper sesh (face mask, body scrub) and Chocolate always helps 😊 @Newbie0818 I’m taking these www.cytoplan.co.uk/pregna-plan?gclid=Cj0KCQjwncT1BRDhARIsAOQF9Lk4L2tFD8cMugRGQAsC5XRRqdb79zgk914Hf8_I3yxqMwW8XCHuTxsaAi41EALw_wcB , I think they may have made my cycle slightly shorter 🤔

Skyla01 · 05/05/2020 10:01

@Marshmallow123 decided that next cycle I'll just dtd every 2/3 days whole month and throw tracking out the window!

@Newbie0818 most of what I eat is vegan too. Might try the daily smoothie idea too and put the seeds in there. Supplement wise I only take folic acid.

@MrsEmilyB if DP is poorly I would wait until you get a positive LH then jump him. Also ovulation is ~36 hrs after the surge so you still have time. And sperm can live for 3 days.

@myhappystreak exciting- let us know how you get on testing!

firsttimetry · 05/05/2020 10:03

We're taking:

-Pregnacare His and Hers conception vits
-extra folic acid
-extra vitamin d
-extra omega-3 fish oil (be careful not to take cod liver oil as it has a high Vit A)
-CoQ10
-he's taking an extra multivit with cod liver oil

HopefulRobertsons66202 · 05/05/2020 10:29

Took another test this morning and it's still faint but a smidge darker than yesterday's! I'm still praying this baby sticks! ♥️🌈

Started to get nervous yesterday and out of know where I saw a rainbow and it didn't even rain yesterday! So I'm going to take that as a sign to relax and whatever happens happens!

This cycle we tried:
Preseed
Prenatal vitamins
DTD every other day from cycle day 6-17
Prayers
And 50mg of B6 daily

Juno231 · 05/05/2020 10:29

@Newbie0818 I'm taking pregnacare conception and omega 3 (for the DHA as that is good for fertility). If I don't conceive this month I'll up my game with a Vit B complex and CoQ10/Ubiquinol next cycle.

Got some iodine ordered for when I conceive as well. I come from a country that has iodine in all table salt and always found it weird the UK doesn't do it. Studies indicate it helps babies' brain development and seeing my siblings in law I think we'd need all the help we can get to counter those genes LOL.

Demi24 · 05/05/2020 10:35

BFN at 12DPO with all my usual pre AF symptoms. Looks like cycle 15 hasn’t been a success :( just waiting on fertility clinics to get up and running again as we were being referred before rona showed up. Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting on their BFP 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Anyone else been trying for that long??

MrsEmilyB · 05/05/2020 10:46

@Ltay2 - thank you. Very interesting about the CoQ10. I have only been taking 100mg daily.

@GingerBaby89 - is that an adjustable size knob hoop?? If so, can you link it? DH is quite girthy so finds them uncomfy. That looks perfect!

Supps wise we take:
Holland & Barratt His + Hers pre-conception
CoQ10 100mg (both) - although reading above I should take a higher dose apparently
Omega 3 Algae Oil (me - as I am vegetarian so can't take fish oil)
Omega 3 fish oil (him)
Pre+probiotics (both)
Homeopathic remedies as prescribed (me)
Calc. Fluor in the 2ww (me)

Minster2012 · 05/05/2020 11:26

@babyG123 take a test 😂💕

@Newbie0818 vitamins are a minefield anyway I was the same & im on a lot of other medication so I felt more comfortable just going with seven seas trying for a baby as that has extra vitamin D or iron I can’t remember & omega 3 and that’s it then eating healthily & lots leafy veg & only one cup of coffee a day. But I still drink alcohol Friday to Saturday 🤷‍♀️

SS123456 · 05/05/2020 11:33

@ltay2 I have a shorter Luteal phase and I read online that extra vit c would head. I went agead and started taking them at the start of my cycle and a week after my period (my cycles were regular) I got another period straight after! I put it diwn to the extra vit c and stopped them straight away

SS123456 · 05/05/2020 11:33

Sorry for the misspells, it wouldn't let me type properly! Head = help

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 11:35

@SS123456 That's so strange! I'm so glad I have found out about it now.

Newbie0818 · 05/05/2020 11:52

Thanks ladies, I was already taking folic acid but will definitely invest in some proper supplements. I wonder if it’ll shorten my cycles?
Weird cramps since this morning 😑

Juno231 · 05/05/2020 12:02

@newbie0818 if you want to regulate your cycles then add Agnus Castus to your regime.

GingerBaby89 · 05/05/2020 12:26

@MrsEmilyB yes, yes it is 😂😂😂 here you go!

www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=35132

What's everyone doing for exercise? I started exercising properly for the first time since school in May 2019 (joined the gym and actually stuck to it) so definitely want to stay in shape in pregnancy... but conscious will need to modify what I'm doing. But don't know if I should modify now during the TWW just in case?!?!

SmileyT · 05/05/2020 12:28

@Positivetime just remember that our bodies naturally make us feel a million dollars around ovulation and then a bit shitty towards AF or that BFP with the hormones. Throw the emotional rollercoaster of ttc in and no wonder us ladies go a little bit mad. Be kind to yourself and just remember our bodies are good at working out the month that things are most likely to work out. Sending you loads of virtual hugs ❤️

I definitely need to get on a pre-conception multi-vitamin I currently take the below all separately 🙄

-Coq10
-calcium
-folic acid
-vit D
-iron
-vit E

  • B complex

I'm definitely ordering calc flour for next month just forgot to add it to amazon order in time.
