That's when lockdown is lifted, I could try to concieve? It's with sperm donation, so has to be when lockdown is lifted. It's one of those days when I've been talking to my pregnant cousin and she's saying that obviously she can't go to birthing classes and she can't get her bump measured.
Also seeing the reports that this could the virus could go on for atleast a year maybe 2. Is it selfish of me? I was planning on starting in June and I've got savings. I have been waiting to start a family for a long time, but now I don't know of this would be the worst possible time and that I should just wait!

I suppose I would ask why now? If you’ve been waiting a long time what makes you want a baby when, if the virus is around for a long time, then F2F appointments with HCP will be limited, you may have to give birth alone and there are some women who have had to leave their babies with CV in hospital? Are you just feeling especially broody after speaking to your cousin? Has thinking about possible mortality prompted this?

You are allowed to want to conceive a baby any way you like but fertility treatments are cancelled/suspended so you would be unlikely to be able to have a consultation, screening checks, bloods, examinations etc any time soon so would you be okay if you have to wait longer than you would like?

If it’s what you definitely want, then there is no harm contacting a few clinics of your choice, to find out the fees, the availability of suitable donor sperm (used to be a shortage once donation was no longer anonymous) and the checks/screening tests that would be needed once it all starts up again. The waiting issue all depends on age, affordability (for treatment and raising a child) & support so re timing that’s something only you can decide.
