Does anyone use OPKs I'm so confused I have a line which isn't as dark as the control line so not positive even though my app says I'm ovulating today but does the line mean I have ovulated and it's getting weaker or I haven't yet and it's going to get stronger they are so confusing 🙄

OPKs please help

Do you log them on an app like femometer? It would really help you with this.

You haven't said if you have been testing in the run up to today? What was your OPK like yesterday?

I would say this is a "high" reading and would perhaps test twice more (leave 4 h in between) today to make sure you don't miss your peak - but it's hard to say as you haven't shown what your previous days looked like, so this is on the assumption you haven't already missed it.

@Juno231 thanks so much for your response. It's the first one I've taken so I don't have anything to compare it too. I will take another couple today and see what happens. I have a feeling I may have ovulated yesterday but we DTD twice yesterday and once the rest of the week so not to concerned if I missed it this month. Just trying to get my app to be more in sync I'm just using clue and my Fitbit.

We're all different but I know my OPKs go straight back down to low the next day so my guess would be that you have yet to ovulate :) What CD are you on and how long are your cycles normally?

Positevibes · 01/05/2020 12:58

@Juno231 I'm on cycle day 17 of 30 🤞 AF is due 15th

What is the app based on? Just day of cycle or are you tracking BBT to?
Best to do OPKs from CD8, one a day till maybe CD10 (depending on cycle length) then do two or three a day, the surge can be pretty sudden so one a day is sometimes not enough.

Positevibes · 01/05/2020 13:23

@BuffaloCauliflower I think the app just predicts based on when my period that's why I thought I would get some OPKs to be sure. I was going to start using them earlier but they took longer to arrive than I thought they would so just been DTD a lot just in case. I'm not sure what BBT is so I guess I'm not doing it 😊

Depends on the app about how accurate it will be. If it is just one you put your af dates in it will just tell you ovulation is likely at the average time for most women. If you add bbt to it it will be a lot more accurate for you, when I did this I realised I ovulated are more like day 17/18, opks then confirmed this. I would also only get my positive ones in the afternoon/evening

BuffaloCauliflower · 01/05/2020 13:26

If it’s just going on dates that could easily be out, lots of variation between women and even cycles. I have a pretty textbook 28 day cycle and generally ovulate on CD14-15 but I’ve ovulated as early as CD12 and as late as CD18 before.

BBT is basal body temperature. It rises rapidly when you ovulate and is a good way to track ovulation. Even more effective used alongside OPKs

Daisypod · 01/05/2020 13:27

Crossed post, bbt is taking your temp every morning before getting up or doing anything and putting that into the app. Well worth researching as you get a much more accurate idea of your personal cycle

Thanks everyone that's really helpful 😊
