Half way through the 2WW and just feel deflated

Hiya Ladies
Im 6DPO and just feel fed up. Sick of symptom spotting, sick of the voice in my head telling me this is the month only to have AF show up.
Last month took it out of me when I was 8 days late and convinced i was pregnant only for AF to show. Now this month i just feel like (as childish as it sounds) im never going to get those 2 lines. I have barely any symptoms this month other than sore boobs which i get every month.
Have any of you got tips on how to stay positive?
Also anyone else the same dpo as me and want to buddy up?

I should hold off testing until Tuesday but already feeling very impatient!

SarahTTCx · 01/05/2020 17:10

I totally feel you... i'm 7/8dpo and feeling really deflated this month! I've had a UTI too so taking meds for that and its so uncomfortable.

The only symptoms i'm having are sore boobs (get these with AF too). Also, yesterday I had quite strong abdominal cramping, not like AF but more like the cramps you get with an upset tummy but without the upset tummy symptoms. It caused some aching in my lower back too. Got my hopes up a little then realised it could totally be either a side effect of the meds i'm taking OR a side effect of the UTI! This is so tough!!

I'm also 6DPO today - 5th cycle for no.1. It's definitely disheartening when it doesn't happen each month, when others get pregnant so quickly, and I can no longer imagine getting the two lines...

We did a day 21 blood test and a sperm test too after 3 months of trying, and hubby's results came out as low sperm count/low morphology, etc.. he was already eating really well (lots of organic vegetables, etc), exercising regularly, taking vitamins.... the only thing we could pinpoint was that he had been going to the sauna several times a week and we learnt that heat isn't good for sperm. So he's since stopped. My blood tests came back ok, so we're just hoping something happens in the next few months now that his sperm will have had time to regenerate. Of course the low results could be caused by something else.. stress or genetic perhaps.. or perhaps I have an underlying issue too.. time will tell :(

Last month I waited until day of AF to test (and promptly got AF the next morning!) - I want to wait and not test early, as it's really disheartening when it's a BFN (and costly too), however it's Ramadan at the moment and I'm fasting. If I were to find out I'm pregnant (unlikely!!!), I'd stop fasting, so I will probably test at 12DPO just in case.

@Luz192 Sorry to hear you are having a frustrating TTC journey. Where did you get the tests done, was this through GP or privately?

@SarahTTCx I had those same sort of cramps too both yesterday and today, just not lower back. Of course it all could be AF related but hoping not 🤞🏼

@Fifol I am the same! Should be testing a Tuesday but will give in and do one in the morning no doubt.

CurbsideProphet · 01/05/2020 19:48

8dpo here 🙋🏻‍♀️
Time just drags on with no distraction at the weekend like seeing friends and family etc. Such an emotional roller-coaster.

Fifol · 01/05/2020 19:50

@Ltay2 fingers crossed you will get a lovely surprise with that test in the morning! I dont know if I will, part of me feels it's better to wait for AF but the last 2 times I was so anxious all day waiting for it, I dont know if I would be almost better if it was to be a bfn to prepare myself

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 19:52

@Fifol That's what I'm thinking, I'm fully expecting AF to arrive this month but I feel if I get the BFN it will stop me stressing for a few more days.

nina468 · 01/05/2020 21:20

@Luz192 do you mind me asking if you had tests privately and if so what company? We would be interested also if we could have the chance

Ltay2 · 02/05/2020 08:27

BFN for test this morning although not lost hope just yet as it's still too early to test. Will test again Tuesday. 🤞🏼

Fifol · 02/05/2020 08:35

Sorry @Ltay2. Definitely there is still hope, wishing you lots of luck

xxlannixx · 02/05/2020 08:55

@Ltay2 how many dpo are you?

OP posts:
Ltay2 · 02/05/2020 08:57

@xxlannixx 9DPO today so still a way to go.

xxlannixx · 02/05/2020 09:07

Ohh thats early enough not to rule yourself out. Just hoping you get those two lines you deserve

Ltay2 · 02/05/2020 09:09

@xxlannixx Thank you! I'm hoping so. Not going to test again now until at least Tuesday, then AF is due on Thursday.

walkingchuckydoll · 02/05/2020 09:14

Symptom spotting doesn't work IME. I always feel more pregnant when I'm not and feel nothing when I am (till about 8 weeks). Testing early drove me crazy too, because if I had a negative I would test the next day too, and the next et cerera. What helped me is realise that I don't really know till 14 dpo so to not symptom spot or test till then no matter what. I still couldn't totally relax but it was less stressful than the early testing and symptom spotting.

Ltay2 · 02/05/2020 09:17

@walkingchuckydoll I think next month I will do that. The waiting this month has driven me crazy so next month will just try and be calm and wait until AF has appeared, or not appeared. Just difficult when working at home alone in lockdown with nothing else to do!

Luz192 · 02/05/2020 10:34

@Ltay2, @nina468 - we went via NHS. We did have to say we had been trying for 12 months, which some will frown upon, however we pay our taxes and barely ever use the NHS services. My intuition was telling me to get checked, and sure enough something was wrong. If we'd have waited 12 months, we'd have been none the wiser! They're very easy initial tests to conduct.

Fifol · 02/05/2020 11:01

@walkingchuckydoll I think the ideal situation is to just relax and forget about it during the tww but in reality it's very hard! I obviously try not to symptom spot as of course many twinges mean absolutely nothing but again when you're so hopeful it's hard isn't it x

Fifol · 03/05/2020 09:09

After awful cramps all night long I've woken up to AF today. Wasnt expecting her til Tuesday. Gutted x

Ltay2 · 03/05/2020 09:28

@Fifol Oh I'm so sorry 💕 I'm awaiting AF too. Had cramps for 3-4 days now so think that's a bit too long to be implantation cramps.

Fifol · 03/05/2020 10:00

Not sure @Ltay2 but wishing you lots of luck.

It is so hard. But looking on the bright side I can have a glass of wine tonight. Just keep telling myself it will happen when it's right for us x

Ltay2 · 03/05/2020 10:20

@Fifol That's too. Whilst disappointing it's nice to have a bright side. If and when my AF appears I will be looking forward to a boiling hot bath and a glass of something alcoholic haha.

xxlannixx · 03/05/2020 14:25

Sorry to hear @Fifol loving your positivity though.
I stupidly took a test today at only 7dpo because my OH insists i am pregnant. Obviously it was a BFN. Im so tired and eating everything in sight which is different to other months. Still got sore boobs which os norm before AF. Its just a waiting game isnt it.

@xxlannixx AF on the way for me, had cramps now for 6 days and some spotting yesterday so think that's me out for this month. Feeling positive for the next month though. Ordered some COQ10 supplements so hoping they will help.

How are you doing?
